I pulled it for now to prevent confusion during the T2 launch (didn't want people buying the old one by accident). Once things settle down a bit, I'll repost it, hopefully in such a way that it no longer shows up during a search.

For now, hopefully your iTunes backup, you just can't restore the app while you're away from your computer :(

From what I could tell, the *vast, vast* majority of users used Ping.fm in 1.x to sync their status to Facebook and MySpace.

Now, there are really nice, server-side solutions to doing this. MySpace recently launched theirs, and Facebook has a number of apps that allow this (and give you control over what gets cross-posted).

I'm a fan of moving as much of this kind of functionality out of clients and into the cloud. The very nature of mobile clients means that connections can be unreliable, so the more work can be done server side, on machines with blazing fast, low latency connections, the better :).

Tell me what you use it for, and if there's no good 'cloud' solution for it.

Identi.ca is now "unofficially" supported in Tweetie 2 (see thread for details). There are issues with user-id and username collisions between services though. If you *only* input Twitter accounts, or *only* identi.ca accounts, it should work fine. Once you mix and match, you may see weird things.

Bugger! Seemed to have fixed the problem some people were having with 1.2.2 and introduced a new one. Still trying to track this bugger down. Thanks for the reports.

Yep, Twitter didn't always support differentiating userids and screennames, but I've updated Tweetie to use the new APIs. I believe the Mac version is already using them, and the next major version of the iPhone app should use it also.
