nothing happening here, nothing happening to other "vertical view" issues; incompatibility with thunderbird plugins; "This version of Postbox is going to expire in 14 days"; ... i just uninstalled postbox and went back to thunderbird. v3 beta 4 rocks - not missing postbox at all. good bye.

i wouldn't call this "non-logical", but simply "one-line-message-list" display. for me it is very logical, as it uses the screen estate as much as possible. also, this is a duplicate of http://getsatisfaction.com/postbox/to... .-

the code isn't properly shown here: the <code> tag i used doesn't seem to keep formatting. see below for correction (and screenshot). – ax, on June 30, 2009 11:09

@k_jusupov: the patch isn't properly shown here: the <code> tag i used doesn't seem to keep formatting. let's try again: this one works for me for the current 1.0b13:

the pane could still need some save-screen-estate layout improvements, like putting all images in a row and wrapping at the right margin.
ax replied on June 25, 2009 14:24 to the question "Move Inspector to bottom of message in vertical view" in Postbox, Inc.:
yes, please - move it to the bottom, or make that an option. the idea behind vertical view is better usage of screen estate. as a typical inspector pane doesn't have much content, ie. is not very high, it wastes all the space below. which could be better used for a long float-wrapped email.
thank you!-

if it would be so easy, they would have done it already. problem with the skype api is that it only works with a skype client running and being logged into. now do that in an internet cafe or on a mobile phone ... – ax, on February 15, 2009 17:18

A comment on the problem "Gallery: 504 Gateway Time-out" in Pixelpipe:
it is web / port 80 / comment spam coming from the EC2 ranges, so blocking port 25 and leaving open port 80 is not an option. the best for me really would be a list of your outgoing ip addresses. i got gallery2 working now by temp removing the ec2 ranges from the firewall, logging pixelpipe requests for a while, putting exlusions for the logged ip addresses into the firewall, and blocking the ec2 ranges again. i'm afraid this won't work too long, though.
as i guess this quite specific issue is not within your responsibility, i'll mark it solved. thanks for all the feedback. – ax, on November 01, 2008 17:17
