A comment on the question "New Beta 19 Build 2241 - Let us know what you think!" in BumpTop:
Don't forget that some features in the original demo will not be in Bumptop, that was Anand's test to push the limits, and it is not concrete evidence of what will be in Bumptop. :) – AzimuthDragon, on February 23, 2009 19:47

@Justin Ho
Hey, I can't copy and paste it, I'm sending the DxDiag.txt as an attachment to feedback@bumptop.com, I hope that works for you. :)
It'd be way more specific than I am, either way. :P

I can't look up my specs, I love the intro tut, nice job, and the menus are much faster!
My biggest disappointment is that the borders of my windows still disappear, when this happens, it completely mucks up my skinning app and as a result i don't use Bumptop since I can't even see it normally. PLEASE FIX! D:
AzimuthDragon replied on February 16, 2009 07:22 to the question "What are the 3 most annoying things about BumpTop?" in BumpTop:
Enable WindowsBlinds 6 support. the edges of my windows disappear whenever I have Bumptop running, it's very annoying.
Quicker to load menus: Any time I right click the pie menu takes a while to show up completely.
I emphasize the WindowBlinds 6 compatibility, I not only use it for style but for functionality, the particular theme I am using allows me to have a slightly larger taskbar without looking weird like Windows normally does with doubled taskbar, and my window edges are always disappearing whenever bumptop is going.
I also use RocketDock, and that's always disappearing whenever i try to open it over bumptop, it's docked to the right side of my screen.
All these things get flickery, so it'd be nice if bumptop didn't do that.

AzimuthDragon replied on February 05, 2009 21:34 to the question "How much will bumptop cost when relesed?" in BumpTop:
Ew. No ads. One, that would be annoying because it takes up your desktop space. Even trials of Windows don't have ads on your desktop.
Two, having extra objects scattered around that you cant get rid of only makes more work for the processor, depending on your icon volume.
Three, the best thing to do would be to make a 'Bumptop Basic' and 'Pro' where Pro has all the features, and Bumptop Basic is a feature-limited indefinite trial.
Some ideas for limiting features, maybe only allow two photo frames, only one or two widgets, even setting a cap on the amount of photos that can be shown as thumbnail icons that are on the desktop. Basic can't use the web shortcut thumbnails, and perhaps even (though i hate to say it) limits on theme capabilities for the free version.

Save My ThemeSo, I've been messing around with themes, and what annoys me is that any time I set a custom theme, the only way to reset that theme say, on a different computer, or reverting after trying a new theme, is to set it -manually-. Bumptop could use a, 'Save My Theme' function on the Themes tab. Then it could import all the used images/settings into a premade template and this way you can create your own theme files without editing the source.
Bumptop has to access configuration information from theme files anyway, so inserting data into a template should work out relatively easily. C:

I do wish they'd hurry, though. It's been a month since the last news regarding Bumptop's status, and that only makes me even more excited as to what the next release is going to contain. – AzimuthDragon, on January 29, 2009 06:06

The team is very busy most of the time, They're getting ready for the public beta. As for your problem, I would suggest complete uninstall, restart, redownload, and then reinstall to be sure your installer wasnt corrupted the first time you downloaded it. Other than that, I wouldn't know what to do. D: try e-mailing the Team at feedback@bumptop.com to be sure they know of the issue. – AzimuthDragon, on January 29, 2009 05:54

It's really annoying when people do this, please do -not- ask for invite codes... If you read through the topics you would know that one, it doesn't help, and two, the team is planning a public beta soon. :) – AzimuthDragon, on January 28, 2009 17:59

@WILL
Don't forget that the Bumptop team is already completely swamped with getting ready for the next update, let alone a public beta release. It's a big step, and they have to hunt down EVERY single bug to be sure that the next release is as stable as possible. – AzimuthDragon, on January 15, 2009 04:16
AzimuthDragon shared an idea in BumpTop on January 15, 2009 04:06:
BumpSync: The Bumptop version of Windows BriefcaseBumpSync: Windows Briefcases for Bumptop
Create a basic briefcase-like sync system as well as a Bumptop Mobile, but contained inside an app window for personal comfort navigating files needed on-the-go on an external hard drive or flash drive. Bumptop Mini!
This would be useful for people that are used to working with Bumptop and want it at their fingertips with files themselves, just set a single user-defined or bumptop-defined folder for items you want in BumpSync on the flash drive.
Basically speaking, create Bumptop Sync as a Bumptop-esque replica of the Windows Briefcase, with a mini Bumptop that can run without being installed. When this feature is being used, a folder on the desktop is constantly in-sync with a BumpSync folder on the flash drive (Briefcase).
AzimuthDragon replied on January 15, 2009 04:02 to the idea "Draw/tag organization areas onto the desktop" in BumpTop:
This is a fantastic idea, think about it, draw a little shape on the desk for something you need grouped together but not in it's own folder, say, items that only need to be on the desktop temporarily, so the piles aren't visually hiding the items, but they aren't all shoved in a corner either, and then enable a -minor- snap-to feature that sucks in items thrown directly at it, like if it was a whirlpool and you had just tossed in a toy boat, but there's no exact center that everything goes to. Excellent idea!!!-
