This has already been covered in many, many other topics, you should check to see if it's already been suggested before posting, for one thing when you first suggest the question it shows a list of topics already created that pertain to what you want to propose, if any, point being that you should use that to avoid lots of same ideas popping up, and also because the previously created topics on the subject have more information concerning said subject. :)

A comment on the question "BumpTop Love" in BumpTop:
Don't forget that the TED video was a prototype and will never be an 'official reference' per se, of Bumptop's current capabilities. The tiles in the original TED video no longer exist, in a sense, the prototype was pushing the limits and seeing what could be achieved, while it was also used to demo Bumptop's capabilities, it was not an official demonstration of the current features and effects/looks of the newest beta release of Bumptop. Hope I made sense there, but the final word from the Bumptop team is that the official video is not an official demonstration of -exactly- what Bumptop looks like and how it works. It does demo key features, such as piles and fanning/flipping through them, tossing icons around, lasso, etc, but the details and 'neat' parts of the video, such as your icon shadows not matching the TED vid, is because it has been redesigned since then. While the tiles really shouldn't be having such an odd looking 'ghost' shadow, don't use the TED video as an example because that video used a prototype pavement version of Bumptop that Anand made (From what I understand), and is now obsolete. – AzimuthDragon, on January 09, 2009 02:29

Taping icons together? (Yet Another Novelty Idea)What if someone (Possibly as a widget in the future) created a feature for Bumptop to 'tape' icons together? On a real desk you might tape a few sheets of paper together to show sequential order.
This is more of a novelty/toy, but it would be fun to tape icons together and give it a whiplash effect when the trail hits other icons.
Picture1 -tape- Picture2 -tape- Picture3
Just another useless idea, lol. :D

@Tamas
There's a lot of thinks about desks that Bumptop doesn't use at the moment. I wonder if maybe we can somehow add drawers to the walls in the future that we can assign to contain the contents of certain folders?
And in Windows, if I dropped a, say, note file called 'spanishnotes.txt' onto a shortcut to Word, it would open that note file in Word, same goes if I dropped said note file onto an open Word window, so I'd think Bumptop could interface with the Windows functionality that makes those actions possible.
I wouldn't mind just dropping, say, a shortcut on my desktop onto a Firefox window thats been minimized into bumptop, so that it can just pop up the window in that window.
It's a good idea, but I don't think it's critical yet. ;)
Bumptop has lots of potential, that means lots of ideas!

Bumptop isn't about having a house to play in.
Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to be mean, but I feel it may be worded in such a way that it seems like it.
The whole point of bumptop is to bring the subtle organization and methodology of your desk to your computer, not about turning your desktop into a house, I mean, seriously, when was the last time your desk had doors to other rooms and a couch on it, lol?
It would be awesome, but i think it's impractical. You do know that Bumptop can be used in folders, right?
AzimuthDragon replied on December 12, 2008 20:33 to the problem "Bumptop XP transparency issue" in BumpTop:
Bump! I just installed WindowBlinds 6, I know you folks must be pretty busy, it's not too major but some windows that are not fullscreen are 'stuck' on the Bumptop until I actually go to Bumptop and start interacting with it, it's like how when your computer slows down and windows get stuck on the screen after you move them, ghost windows, perhaps.
Do you guys have any more info about this?
Edit: Basically the same thing as Itomix, I worded mine badly.-

-.=.- Dude, it's called a beta for a reason. With major software like this it WILL take time. This isn't a Microsoft get-it-done-in-a-day thing, there isn't four million people working in tandem on the program. Sign up for the beta and wait, that's all you can do. – AzimuthDragon, on December 02, 2008 05:57

Dual monitors are not supported at the moment, from what's in my copy, and try searching for a thread before you start one because this particular topic has been discussed quite a lot throughout the forms. ;) Tends to make it easier to find information if we all talk about it in the same place, right?
