I'm glad everything is fine now. Please remember to check your account settings (VERY IMPORTANT) and delete any foreign email this person may have added....in addition to strengthening your facebook password, make sure you also change the password to ALL your email accounts, as it is likely they gained access to your FB account through your email.

I understand your frustration..i was in the exact same situation as you, and did everything you did. I emailed fbook (abuse, info, login, warning, disabled, etc)numerous times every day for several days without any reply.
    THEN!!!
    I sent a message to abuse+dt17u8y@facebook.com
and I got a reply from someone called jackson within 20 minutes...although the reply was from abuse+duw8ylb@facebook.com.

This is what they sent me:

    Hi XXX,

We have changed your password and, if necessary, restored your contact email address.

    Login: XXXX
    New Password: XXXXX

If you did not already receive a security alert from Facebook, please review the following information.

Our systems indicate that your Facebook account has been compromised by cybercriminals attempting to impersonate you. These criminals often will try to trick your friends into sending them money by claiming that you are stuck in a far away location and in need of assistance. It is possible that your email account was compromised as well, as obtaining access to a victim's email is one of the primary ways these cybercriminals have been operating. Please change the passwords to any email addresses associated with your account. Once you regain control of your Facebook account, be sure to verify that you control all of the email addresses associated with your account on the Contact Email section at:

    https://www.facebook.com/editaccount.php

Again, we strongly recommend that you select a new, unique password for any email address associated with your Facebook account. You should make sure to avoid using the same password for multiple sites. We also encourage you to visit the following page for more information about Facebook security and how to report suspicious material:

    http://www.facebook.com/security

Finally, if you think you have been victimized by fraud, you can report this to Western Union's fraud hotline by calling 1-800-448-1492.

    Thanks for contacting Facebook,

I suggest you email abuse+dt17u8y@facebook.com ASAP and hopefully your problem will be solved in no time like mine. Put 419 scam in the title. Issues like these are more serious than others and will likely get a quicker response.

    Wish u all the best!!!

p.s unfortunately for me, when i logged into my account, i found that the hacked deletedt ALL my information. he/she deleted all my
pictures, most of my wall posts, all my friends, my inbox was cleared, all the groups I had joined were gone.....it pretty much looks like I just joined fbook.
Adding all those friends again is going to be an enormous load of
work. i also noticed the hacker blocked a few of my friends and added another email to the emails associated with my account...i guess that is how they were able to control my account. if ure account is restored, make sure you remove this extra email (if you find that someone else added an email....u will find this info under account settings).

Goodluck to everyone facing fbook issues.!!!!

Same here...still waiting. I email them several times a day every single day.
I remember a few years ago fbook wasnt such a big deal.....now its pretty much a huge part of our social lives. If i ever get my account back, I'll reform my fbook usage to pretty much wean myself off of it. Being upset because i cant log into fbook for a couple of weeks is borderline pathetic lol.......although I think the major reason why people r mad is cuz the whole world is on fbook, including friends who r overseas, and nobody wants to be the only one booted out of this "world"

Azza asked a question in Facebook on March 31, 2009 20:30:

cant log into facebook although my password is correct!!!
    Hello
I tried to log into my account but was met by a message saying that the email/password combination was incorrect, although I am sure it was. I clicked on the "forgot password" link (although I did NOT forget my password) in order to request for a link to reset my password. I checked my email but did not receive the password resetting link from Facebook. I requested to reset my password twice more, but failed to receive the link in my email. i also dont receive any facebook notifications anymore. This may suggest that the person
who stole/hacked my account (if this is indeed what has happened) changed the email that is associated with my account. I asked my brother, who happens to be my facebook friend,to log into his account and check whether my account still exists. At the time, it still existed and he could access my profile. When he logged in again five minutes later,he could no longer see my profile and I was no longer in his friends list. All my friends can no longer see my profile- it is as though we are no longer friends. However, I know my account still exists because if a person who is not in my friends list searches my name, they can see my account. I sent a report to the Facebook support team complaining that my account has been compromised, but I have not heard back from them except an automated message asking me to confirm that the account is mine. I also emailed info@facebook.com and have not heard anything from them. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should do???? And does anybody know what exactly could be the cause of this problem?? I suspect my ex has something to do with this, but then again I could be wrong. Coincidentally, I cant even log into my hotmail account (which is not associated with my fbook account)...I keep getting a wrong password message although I know my password is correct. I am really upset.....i hope someone offers helpful advise. Many thanks
