Once you have a web app (for Android and every mobile platform that supports the JavaScript Geocoding API in the future), it should be relatively simple to port that web app to Palm Pre, as apps there are developed with HTML, JavaScript & stuff.
Also, Palm supports the Geocoding API for "native" apps, probably they *are* in fact supporting the Geocoding API for normal web apps, too? (I don't know that, I'm just guessing.)

I have no idea. Compete shows 780k monthly uniques in the US, but you don't need to go to their website to use the service (you upload an image once and that's it unless you want to change it) and this doesn't account for international traffic.
Based on that I would guess that there are several million users.

Use Gravatar as source for contact images!Gravatar is a simple service operated by Automattic (Wordpress.com) where users can upload an image that is identified with their e-mail addresses. It would be awesome if these images could be loaded automatically, if no image has chosen for the contacts.
seb asked a question in Disqus on December 08, 2008 00:05:
Other languagesI hope you'll add the possibility to translate Disqus into different languages. So far, no centralized commenting service is translated to different languages - implementing that could give you a head start in the international markets.
I'd really like to use a service like Disqus in my German-language blog.-

Only show excerpt of blog postsI would prefer my soup to be more compact and would like to only see an excerpt of blog posts that are loaded from an RSS feed, optionally. Also, this would reduce the risk of a duplicate content penalty.

Damn, I didn't even check for the latter three types of phones. Embarassing... :) – seb, on June 27, 2008 13:59

A comment on the problem "Twitter refuses to uphold Terms of Service" in Twitter:
It's dumb to compare Twitter to a post office and hate mail. The internet is something that can be cached, that can be searched. Public harassment on the internet is something that can damage a person's reputation, because it can easily be found. Many companies search the names of applicants on the internet. Depending on the future boss or the type of job, these things can become a problem, and with the full name included in this harassing tweets, finding this stuff isn't that difficult.
Also, hate mail is very different from stalking.
As long as they have their old TOS in place, they have to act according to them. They can change their policy after they changed the TOS, but until then, they have to take their TOS seriously, so that any TOS they have can be taken seriously.
Oh, and an important thing here is: Nobody's shooting the messenger here. Twitter is not criticized for offering the stalker a platform, they're not criticized for the very existence of the stalker in their system. They're criticized for not banning him, even though their TOS tell them to do so. This is very different from what you're saying. – sebmos, on May 23, 2008 00:28

All these problems just keep people moving to FriendFeed. So no, Twitter hasn't won yet. Let's hope FriendFeed takes its own TOS seriously! – sebmos, on May 23, 2008 00:22-

Jason, you just gave your boss the perfect reason to fire you. I mean, if you're not there to ban users that violate your TOS and you guys haven't been able to communicate Twitter's continuous problems to the outside world until recently, what is your job, then? – sebmos, on May 23, 2008 00:20

sebmos shared an idea in Soup on November 09, 2007 13:59:
grouping algorithmRegularly, the startpage of soup.io is packed with pics or links from one person, if several are uploaded at the same time. So my suggestion is to group the entries on the start page, so that it looks more interesting.
For example: Don't show more than 1 entry from one person at a time and not more than 5 out of 20 from a person.
Or so. What do you think?
(This suggestion is only for the start page, not for the friends-soups.)
sebmos reported a problem in Soup on November 07, 2007 13:18:
Feed-Import: Why this title?Soup.io imports my Wordpress.com Feed, but uses my user name on Wordpress.com as a title for every post, rather than the title of the post itself.
Wordpress.com doesn't report the name - only in the media-list for blog posts, which really doesn't make any sense to be used.
Here's the blog I'm importing:
http://mister3h.wordpress.com/
I used the auto-detect-feature, but I guess this feed is used:
http://mister3h.wordpress.com/feed/
(There's no other feed for the posts AFAIK, and the posts are basically imported correctly.)
Oh, btw: Either remove the "Mail Us"-Button on your about-page or answer to e-mails sent there. It's annoying to not know if you received my feedback or not.
This is bad corporate communication, guys. You depend on early adopters feedback and I'm not willing to share my thoughts with you (other than reporting bugs that really annoy me) if I can't at least get an automated answer that shows me that you received the e-mail.
(Btw: I don't think you're a too big company that you can't answer feedback e-mails with a simple "Hey, thanks for your feedback!".)
