OK, I used hfs explorer to copy everything to PC. Reformatted on windows vista using itunes. Copy everything back. Still no sync with songbird.

Well itunes on my moms vista works. It mounts and shows serial number.

I have the same situation but it won't work. Nano lime green v2 i believe. XP song bird 0.7.0 and ipod addon. Does it matter ipod was synced on mac first. XP wont mount it if is mac formatted?

I understand, Windows can format iPod as a hard drive, but it's not the same when you re-format with iTunes or Songbird.
Did you try to mount your iPod in iTunes after you 'formatted' in Windows?
I wouldn't be surprised, if it doesn't work.
Use "Restore to factory settings" in iTunes, then try to mount in Songbird.
Try to avoid formatting devices in OS.

Actually, Windows can format an ipod, like it would do with a hard drive. It is the first thing windows does when you completly restore tour ipod. If Windows did not formated ipods, it would not work on Windows.

I don't think, Windows itself could format the device.

My ipod is on the enable disk mode already, I've even tried putting the ipod itself in disc mode and clearing my Songbird profile....

We had no problem to mount iPod Nano 2nd Gen in Songbird 0.7.0 on XP.
How did you re-format your iPod?
See if you can mount in iTunes, then on a bottom of the device page look for a check box for "Enable Disk Mode". That mode should be enabled.
Try that, if it doesn't help, you might want to clean your Songbird profile:

Run the application again to create a new profile.

Hi! I recently downloaded Songbird 0.7 and the IPod add-on but my ipod won't show in the left bar it's supposed to. I'm using windows XP with a IPod nano 2gen.

I tried to restore my ipod and formating it with windows but nothug changes.
