A comment on the problem "Gmail problem with build in groups" in Soocial:
Mano,
so did you have contacts in those groups before you synced Gmail with Soocial? – Bart, on December 10, 2009 14:35

merijn, really sorry you can't get it to work. We need to dig in to it. We are looking in to buying a Samsung Star so we can do some testing to see what the phone expects from us. – Bart, on December 10, 2009 14:22

Hey Mooligan,
you found a bug like issue. I can explain a bit. If you edit a contact in the contact editor on soocial.com and there is a comma in the contact detail then when we save the contact we will add a \ to escape the comma.
If a contact comes in from a device and we save that contact we do not do the same thing.
So when we merge the contacts and we look for duplicate details then to the merging code those look like they are different.
So, we will have to make sure we store all our data in exact the same way.
We will have to fix this. Might take a bit before it is fixed.
Thank you for letting us know!

what settings do you have for the contacts database?
seems like you have ./contacts/ now. Could you try either ./contacts or just contacts? – Bart, on December 09, 2009 15:48

Merijn,
I deleted the phone from the www.soocial.com/connections page. I am hoping this might solve it. Can you try once more?
We do not have a lot of experience with Samsung telephones. Seems like there ain't many that actually properly support syncml. But we seem to be close for your phone. – Bart, on December 09, 2009 13:55

Also seems like you have settings entered for sync calendars and stuff. Soocial only does contacts. Can you turn of syncing:
Memos or Notes
Schedules of Calendars
Todo's
Memos – Bart, on December 08, 2009 15:01

I don't think you can in that phone. We have to see if we can find the cause for it failing. – Bart, on December 08, 2009 14:32

Hey Mano,
Friends, Family, and Coworkers are gmail groups. You can't really delete those. Somehow the were deleted. The problem is that these are protected groups. Not sure how to fix that. The work around would be to create a different group with another name. For example "Friends1" Then in OSX copy all your contacts from the "Friends" group in to the "Friends1" group. Then delete the "Friends" group. Now this group should make it to Gmail
