Confusing star/circle icons on homepageThe star and two circles on the homepage are confusing. I didn't want to click on them (which is the only way to see what they are) thinking the icons would cause an action like a share/digg icon. The tooltips when I mouse over them should provide more information (e.g. "when you shortlist a venue, it gets added here").

Selected state for bottom menubarThis is just a tiny UI pet-peeve with Tweetie 2 on the iPhone, but I feel like the little triangle on the selected menu button at the bottom either needs to be bigger (like the triangle pointing to someone's profile photo when you're looking at an individual tweet) or not there at all (seems a bit redundant to have that in addition to the highlighted box + blue icon for a selected item?).
Right now it's so small that it's not visible enough to really indicate anything, especially when it's over bolded usernames, but it's big enough for me to know it's there.

Parenthesis used in URL shorteningI had a URL inside parenthesis and Tweetie converted the URL to a bit.ly address when I posted my tweet, but it grabber the closing ")" when it shortened the URL. Shouldn't Tweetie have known it's not part of the URL?

Switching a direct message to @ replyIs there a way to switch a direct message to an @ reply? I typed something out and decided to make it an @ reply instead, so I put "@username" in the beginning and it ended up just being a DM anyway. Then I realized that was dumb of me because the titlebar still said it was a Direct Message. :) If Command+D just opened a window with "d username" then I could at least change the "d " to an "@".-

Ungrouped list of direct messagesHi, Tweetie For Mac is great but after using it for a while I'm not a big fan of the way direct messages are handled. I don't get DMed that often, but when I do it's kind of annoying to click on the mail icon and then only see a list of people's names, and then have to click on those just to see the new message.
Maybe it makes sense if you get a thousand DMs a day, but if it's just a couple then the interface just gets in the way. I wish it just listed the messages out like the main Timeline and Mentions views.-

bartificial replied on October 17, 2008 03:50 to the question "Username vs. Real Name" in Tapulous:
Yeah, this is really annoying. I see people with Twitter's "Nearby" feature, but if I don't want to follow them there's no way for me to look them up on my computer. A lot of times I want to do it cause the icons in Twinkle are so tiny, I want to go on my computer to see bigger versions of them (I wish that was more like Twitterific where the icon is bigger when you're looking at a person's profile).
A comment on the question "Home screen has people I'm not following" in Tapulous:
No, it was definitely a whole different set of users and posts mixed in with my regular ones. I'm not following very many people. I saw several new posts above people that I'm following and they were definitely unrelated to those people. I tried uninstalling Twinkle and re-installing it and that actually worked. Now only seeing people I'm following. The whole Twinkle vs Twitter username thing is very confusing. Makes it seem like I'm not really getting a true Twitter experience. – bartificial, on July 26, 2008 15:39
bartificial asked a question in Tapulous on July 25, 2008 22:22:
Home screen has people I'm not followingTwinkle is showing me messages on the Home screen from people I'm not following mixed in with people I am actually following, and these are people that aren't even following me either. Where are these people coming from? They're not my "nearby" people either. I checked Twitterific and it's still showing the usual people I follow and not these random people.
