Hello everyone,

Just to let you all know that we've had a chance to clear the decks since the last release and have now confirmed that multi-currency invoicing will be the focus of our next release.

Support for multi-currency will come in incremental additions within FreeAgent, and we aim to solve the common problems people have first, with other improvements and enhancements coming later down the line in subsequent releases.

We do want to take the time to do things right though, so I can't give a release date, but we're excited about getting this underway and we're looking forward to the release as much as you all are.

A comment on the idea "Invoicing" in FreeAgent Central:

There's 2 things involved here I think:

1) Improving the Project display page so it shows a better list of all the Invoices, Estimates etc involved

2) Possibly introducing a breadcrumb trail for your current position in the app. e.g. Contact Name > Project Name > Estimate

Number 1) is something we definitely want to do and we've talked about Number 2) but is tricking fitting it into the UI without cluttering it. – Roan, on November 02, 2009 13:27

The review of the explanation process had admittedly taken a bit of a back seat while we worked on other features.

I totally agree with you that it could be greatly improved, and discussions have been ongoing internally regarding this, but I'm not sure when we'll be implementing a rework.

It's on the cards though, but I just can't honestly say when.

There's nowhere I know of, but I'm sure other uses will be happy to give their opinions.

From the release after next, you'll have the ability to add default footer text to invoices anyway, which should make it easier for everyone.

We probably won't be adding this in the short term I'm afraid. We already allow the use of personal bank accounts within FreeAgent, and personal transactions are simply ignored by FreeAgent, but going to the lengths of explaining personal transactions and then providing the reporting that you would want isn't on our roadmap.

Btw have you seen www.kublax.com?

It's an online system for managing personal finances. Might be worth a look.

We'll have a bit more of a chat about this, but we're really busy in the coming weeks with some important new features so any enhancements to estimates won't be happening quickly.

We'll put these ideas on the back burner though, because they do make sense.

Hi Greg,

When you create an invoice you can use the Additional Info section to add whatever text you like to the footer of an invoice, so you could add your Trading Address there.

At the minute. you have to do this manually for each invoice, which is a bit of pain, so in an upcoming release we'll let you specify default text that's added to the bottom of every invoice.
