I called T-Mobile just now and they reset my phone and network settings and then after the reboot I lost ALL sms ability. I'm having duplicates being received and sent and I'm having SMS messages resent hours later. I may get a tweet via SMS now and get 2 copies of it and then 4 hours later I'll get another 3 copies of the same message. This isn't happening just with Twitter, however, as I'm having the same issues with BrightKite and other SMS services.
Isn't it ironic that T-Mobile is raising their per message SMS rates at the end of the month and the services is getting worse and worse leading up to it?-

More checkin problemsI've gone from BrightKite completely ignoring my check in requests via SMS to it not understanding me. I've tried multiple times to check into a business that I searched for and it will respond with a list of options that I found and I'll reply with "1" to which BrightKite tells me that it did not understand me. I have also noticed recently that certain businesses that I used to check in to a lot just are not showing up at all anymore in the list of my results.

Odd Email issuesI'm becomming less and less of a fan of BlackBerry's Email system as time goes on. The events of tonight really are making me question if it's dangerous to continue using the service. Apparently what had happened was I sent an email at least a few weeks ago and the destination service received that message tonight.... actually it received it twice.... and in an extremely malformatted manner. Because of the BlackBerry Pearl memory leak I delete my emails every few days so there is no way that this message would have been on my blackberry and, thus, this message had to have been stored on BlackBerry's servers for weeks without it doing anything. Additionally, I am currently in an area where I don't have signal and thus my phone is turned off and was turned off at least 45 mins prior to the time that the destination received the email.

I can certainly understand the in and out of range thing but my device was turned off completely for at least 45mins before you received those message and that message was sent at least weeks before. Of course it takes the blame off of ping but really concerns me at what the heck BlackBerry was doing with that message for that long. I typically delete all messages off of my blackberry every couple of days because of their infamous memory leak so whatever happened HAD to have happened on blackberry's servers..... God forbid I tell them that something on their end is broke tho... they are worse than Microsoft when it comes to problems... *sigh*

The only device I ever send email to ping from is my blackberry.... and I have not sent any emails in at least a few days. Whats interesting is there was one point where I did say about making a quick stop in front royal and heading in to NoVA and that happened WEEKS or maybe even months ago. Additionally, I am in an area where my blackberry doesn't get signal and it has been turned off (manually, by me) for at least 2 hours so the device wasn't even on when those messages got sent. This is extremely odd.... I don't even know where to begin to look. Did your system just get that email tonight?

Scrambled posts randomly posted to my twitter streamI rarely access twitter via the web but I happened to be doing so tonight since I'm in an area with no cell phone signal and I just saw 2 posts posted to my twitter stream that contained nothing but scambled text. Adding to this is the fact that I have not sent any emails to my ping.fm address for at least a few days so this seems to be completely random. What gives? And how many times has this happened in the past without me knowing it?

What about using a "token" system. This may seem a little complicated but I think it might work.
Basically, you allow each person to create tokens such as %s that they can configure replacements per service. So if I create %s and then configure that token so that when it's being posted to facebook it is replaced with "is" and when it's being posted to twitter it "I'm", etc, etc. This may seem a little convuluded but the beauty of such a sytem is that it can be further customizable beyond what we're talking about here and, most importantly, if someone doesn't configure tokens its as if nothing changed.

Location SupportI think it would be a huge advantage if Ping.fm would support updating locations. Currently this would be primarily useful for BrightKite but I'm sure it's something that could grow and be used more often. I would really like to be able to use ping.fm for updating ALL of my social network statuses, updates, and micro-blogs but without location support I won't be able to do that. Currently I am sending at least 2 messages everywhere I go and that would have to continue as I'll have to update BrightKite's location seperately.

Ahh.... You need location support then :) Even if the location support is just for BrightKite at the moment I think there are plenty of BrightKite users that would really like to be able to use Ping.FM for updating their location. Maybe I need to open a new idea for that so others can voice their opinion?-

Multiple triggers in a single messageIt would be really great if there was a way to use multiple triggers in one ping.fm message. For instance, say I am eating dinner in MyTown, VA and I want to update my location for BrightKite as well as tell everyone on Twitter what I'm doing. In this scenario it would be great if I could send a message to ping such as:
Eating Dinner! ^L:MyTown, VA
Then when ping received that message it would know that ^L means the information that follows is my location and everything after that should update my current location in BrightKite while everything before the ^ would be posted as a micro-blog.
