I am following this topic less out of a need for revenge on the cheater, and more out of interest re: how Hubdub intends to operate.
That being said, I generally think that the punishments are too harsh too fast (Markov's for example). Admittedly, cheating ruins every game or sport for everyone involved, but I have to say that it is just a game (in beta no less!).
Remove the ill gotten gains, and curb the person's ability to create questions for a greater and greater period of time until staff determine that rehab is unlikely, then pull the plug.
All this stuff about posting the offenders name on a shame list, or removing their ability to hide bets is silly.
Has Hubdub solved the issue of a user creating badly structured questions with one account, and then betting on the question from another account?

The longer this question remains open the higher the likelihood that we end up with another Spitzer fiasco. If Bill Kellor was to be fired (or resign) between now and the suspend date I supect we'll have people on both sides of the bet debating whether or not his departure can be attributed to the McCain-Iseman "affair".

I am in general agreement. There is nothing wrong with buying a position because you think it appears weak (valued too low) and then selling it once you think it is over-valued.
I have made most of my H$ buying and selling on the politic questions (US election almost exclusively) and NONE of them have been settled. Yesterday I bought McCain at 25% (Presidential question) he went up to 37% and I sold it.
The media stories on Hubdub imply that you are to bet on how you think story will "end". Betting in the way you are right now actually takes more insight than predicting the outcome - you are determining how likely OTHERS will view the question and outcome, and you are betting on what they will do. Takes more insight, I think.
Finally, when I do purchase a position, and then it goes down, I just sit on it until it is settled.
