This is not answered. This is a serious bug that you need to take seriously. Loosing contacts lead me me loose confidence in the product. I know this is beta but you need to take this issue seriously. – beans, on November 17, 2008 05:26

The groups sync is bit messy. In my Gmail, some of the groups got the new members from Mac Address book while deleting some of the older members. Luckily, all of the group members still exist in my Mac address book. I am crossing my fingers hoping that this will correct itself or else I have some extra work to do (like 5-6 hours) recreating my groups.
