beatnik asked a question in Postbox, Inc. on October 03, 2009 14:42:
Why is postbox not picking up all my mail?I LOVE postbox and I have seven accounts on it. It Handles as many as I want just fine and I like that. One is my ISP email, five are Gmail, and one is Hotmail.
Today I checked my mail as I was waiting for a message in my Hotmail account. Well I loaded up postbox and did its thing but I got no mail from my Hotmail account so I wanted to be sure. (I purchased something and was waiting for my license) So I knew it would either be their or the company needs a reaming. So I checked it VIA hotmailDOTcom and it was their along with 3 others.
Why did postbox not pick it up? I bet you have some questions on what my settings are (I am pretty sure the password is correct as it does not tell me it is not and I do know it to check on hotmailDOTcom like I had to today) although I don't know what they will be I will watch this thread in a great effort to get help and hopefully if someone reply's I will reply in time that they will still be their so I can work this out.
I appreciate this community so much actually I don't know if i would really like postbox that much in its early stages as I needed help but due to this site I got all the help I needed and now I can't live without the program. Blah; back to the subject, so thanks for hearing me our and I hope to fix this IDK why its not picking up "ALL" my email although it gets most.
Thank you ALL

Anyone have any ideas? Did I do it correctly? I don't think I did as I have yet to hear anyone else has this problem too. Nor have i found the answer yet.
If anyone can either point me to a tutorial out their that will help me. Or tell me what I did wrong above and how to do it correctly. Maybe there is another setting I don't know about.
Don't worry I am learning, soon I'll be answering questions rather than asking.
Thanks again!
BTW if there is anything you may need I did not post above please ¡ASK! I will gladly Answer.

They were all set up as individual accounts. (Chose not to use local folders)
Nothing is in my Local Folders at all. Should there be I did not want there to be I use local folders to save mail and such on my computer not the POP server.
As far as I know in most mail clients with a local folder options. You can choose to either combine all accounts to show up in the local folders, or you can have individual accounts for each. Is this correct for post box?
I have no problem with deleting all my accounts and adding them again if I did it incorrectly. I believe you know how I wish to have my accounts configured maybe This can be Resolved by Doing this (I know I am not perfect I believe I configured them correctly but no one is right all the time so I am willing to give it a go again. :-) )
Can you either tell me how to set them up the way i want or point me in the right direction via a link if it is easier for you then i can follow up on if it worked or if i am in the same position i am now. I thank you Very much for helping me and everyone on this site. I and i bet others are very grateful for your help!
Thanks!

No I do not all I have is two folders for each account "Inbox" and "Trash". I even have this problem with my ISP account. So this problem is widespread. I even configured the pop address and password manually for my ISP account and this is happening for that account also. I know i have the accounts set up correctly in the fact i can receive and send email but in for all accounts the folders are not there?
I also unselected the option you said with no avail.
I don't know what I did wrong all I know is I wish to have all my accounts as if they were the only account, as not having them all linked to the local folders. Currently this is the only way I can keep Drafts and Sent emails. I just wish to have them"more organized" than having the sent emails from all my accounts in one folder.
I thank you for your quick response but I still have this problem and don't know what to do.
tell me if you require any additional information or pictures I will gladly give you anything you need to help me fix this problem.
Thank You

Sent and Draft Folders Not Working??Is there a way to enable "Draft" and "Sent" folders for individual email accounts?? In the options it says it is possible but in the folders menu for each account (i use around 5-6 work email, isp email, personal, spam, and others if needed.)
Because of the amount of accounts i have i chose to make them all separate accounts not linked to local folders.
Basically in the short I have no draft and sent folders for my email accounts. How do i Resolve it? I have it set in options to do this but it does not work maybe it is the way i set up the accounts? any help on this is appreciated. Currently I just set PostBox to use the local folders for these options for all my accounts this makes it somewhat difficult but not bad but i would like each account to have its own "Trash" "Sent" and "Draft" folders for each account.
I don't know if images will help so i will not go about posting more than this which shows it shows the options i have and how i think they should be when set like this If someone would like more I can post if someone requests more to help me out.(anything to get this resolved) I thank you for reading this and in the past i have resolved everything I have had problems with so i thank you all and hope this one goes as well as my other questions.
I must be Re Todd Edd :-P

I guess i can deal with closing my window but how do you use trayconizer for postbox MMester? I would like to know as I dont like using batch commands. On the trayconizer website this was the only way explained to use it, well actually it says to do it via terminal command so i could see doing it through run on the start menu but with the batch file i have shortcuts.
I am interested in how you run trayconizer MMester? If you dont mind telling me?
Also thank you Scott, Maybe once you start supporting add-ons it will be like flock, as flock has its own add-ons but you will find that certain firefox add-ons work well too. especially for features like this.

I just ran into an odd thing. My batch file to "Trayconize" wont close on its own, It is a very simple script. I have used both the "exit" and "cls" commands and neither will close it I am thinking it's because of the fact the window is open because Trayconizer is running?
Everything is working the only problem I have is when i open postbox i now must close a terminal window every time. Although this is not frequent I am just a little obsessed that way. I just dont understand is why i can close the cmd window and the app will still minimize to the tray.
here is the code i am using currently using
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@echo off
"C:\program files\Trayconizer\Trayconizer.exe" "C:\program files\Postbox\postbox.exe"
cls or exit
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tried both as a close window command here but neither worked??? does anyone have a solution to this or is it something I will have to deal with.

beatnik replied on June 10, 2009 13:05 to the problem "High System Resources" in Postbox, Inc.:
mine only about 50,000 to 60,000k So for me its about the same as Thunderbird with no plug ins so i have no problem with it but i would like to see it smaller. As an email client i like to leave it open and that is a lot of resources i agree. I am hope they refine the code but being based on Mozilla code i don't believe they can change that part so Who knows. What I don't understand is why you are using twice of much ram as i do which i think is odd? Although I am only using 6 accounts Email accounts no Usenet and no feeds yet (i installed yesterday so after i add my feeds (i wont be using it for Usenet but i will see later)
