Beau West set one of Beau West's replies as an official response to "Search Feature" in Beau Designs
Beau West replied on September 30, 2009 21:54 to the question "Search Feature" in Beau Designs:
There actually is already a search feature for Budgety! If you choose the "Transactions" tab in the navigation, you'll see a full list of all your transactions. You can then search (using the field near the top of the page) for keywords in the Description or Category.
I'll be working on extending the search functionality, and making it smarter in the future.

Budgety works more similarly to an envelope system, as opposed to a tagging system.
Your money is spent on an item, that item should go into 1 category of spending only. If you have an item that costs $1.00, you can't spend $1.00 from your "Fast Food" budget AND $1.00 from your Restaurants budget.
I hope that makes sense!

Currently, I don't have any plans to make Budgety sync to an offline version... Sorry! – Beau West, on September 30, 2009 21:29

No data, that I know of, was removed or deleted. It's possible that you skipped a month in between (for example, signed up in January and didn't log back in until March)
If that's the case, then it would have "copied" the budget automatically from the previous month (February) which would have been blank since it hadn't been copied from January.
As long as you use the application at least once a month, it should keep everything flowing properly. You can also use the budget wizard to copy your budget from the previous month.
In this case, you'd want to copy January's budget onto February, then February's budget to March.
Beau West shared an idea in Beau Designs on July 10, 2009 19:21:
Some new feature ideas. It would be nice to have the "left to budget" dollar amount turn red when you've gone over your amount left to budget.
Add keyboard shortcuts to the three orange buttons at the bottom of the budget, making it easy to add a budget, and add transactions.
A comment on the question "Copy budget categories & amounts for ea month?" in Beau Designs:
Hmm, that's very strange. I'll have to check that out. I'm wondering if it's an IE issue only. That's something that I'll have to test.
Could you try it in another browser such as Firefox or Chrome (both free) and see if that makes a difference?
Thanks for your input! – Beau West, on June 28, 2009 19:12

When you click on the budgeted amount for a category, it brings up the "Edit Budget" window. You can find the edit icon (pen and pad) there.
When you click on "Add a Budget", you will see next to the "Category" field, an edit icon as well.
Please let me know if you're still having trouble finding it! – Beau West, on April 15, 2009 15:15

I'm currently working on an API, which would allow anyone to pull their transactions out of Budgety using a programming language, however, I understand that that will only be useful for developers.
Eventually, I'll definitely be adding the ability to export a list of your transactions easily. Most likely as a CSV file. This would allow you to import it into any application (Quicken, Quickbooks, etc) easily.

Chach,
Unfortunately you can't assign a transaction to multiple categories. I'm not sure why you'd need to do that anyways!
The "Split" feature will let you take one large transaction. An imported transaction, or large receipt total, etc. Then let you go through and split amounts off of that single amount.
I hope that explains everything for you! – Beau West, on April 02, 2009 18:33
