This is indeed quite an odd issue. I'll talk to the dev team and try to hunt down the problem. Do you manage multiple twitter accounts in HootSuite? did other accounts work?

Did you get this error message right after you click on 'Save' button? are you able to use the exact username/password to log into Twitter? maybe you have changed your twitter password?

It might be that HootSuite dosn't have your latest Twitter login credential anymore, please try the following:

1. Log into hootsuite
2. click on 'Settings'
3. click on 'Social Network' tab
4. pick the twitter profile you refer to
5. click on 'Edit'
6, enter your twitter username and password, and click on 'Save'

see if this resolves the issue.

Hi Jennifer, which browser are you using, Safari? if so please clear your browser cookie, that usually should resolve the issue.

Hi kyserthompson, with Twitter List, you can create a list of other users and make the list public or private. If you make it private then others won't see it, it will be just like Group

When you switch over tabs, there is should be a blue status message says 'Loading...' on top middle of the screen. you should see that message when it works for you, but when it doesn't work for you, do you see that message as well? and if you do, does it just hang there and never disappear?

No we didn't change any policy. It's Twitter itself that had been experiencing API issues in the past 2 days. All 3rd party apps are affected. At this time they still haven't completely resolved it yet. You can get their latest blog update from this link:

Are you using IE6 as your web browser? Unfortunately HootSuite doesn't support IE6, there are lots of good alternatives, such as

IE7 and higher
FireFox
Google Chrome
Safari
Opera

2. click on 'Profiles' Tab
3. on the top right corner of 'Profile' Tab, click on 'Add Profile' button

HootSuite Embed use search.twitter.com to pull tweets. However search.twitter.com doesn't not show tweets from protected profile, only public tweets.

If I understand your request correctly, here is a work around

1. Make your profile public
2. setup a Search column at HootSuite, make the search term "@EntropyGuild AND #guiddown"
3. Tell your members that when they send you a tweet, mention '#guiddown' hashtag in their tweet.
4. Create a embed from the search column and embed it on your website

This way, only the tweets to @EntropyGuild and relates to "internet is down or they are away from their PC" appears in the column

We use Twitter Search to pull tweets for Group columns. But It looks like Twitter's Search indexing is exlucding patphelan's tweets. You can see it here:

Sometimes this happens when Twitter consider a user suspicious for spamming. It doesn't look like patphelan is the case though, so I suggest you contact patphelan and ask them to contact Twitter to include them into Twitter Search results

But sabrinadent is working fine though, I just tried to add him into my group and it works. could you double check you typed in the correct username?
