We're aware of no problems with people receiving items/money that they have won/purchased. Are you sure you're not getting confused by the assassination results screen? It tells you the total value of the loot you obtained, but this may be in the form of items rather than cash (in fact, it usually is, since most spymasters put their money in the swiss bank where it's protected from looters).
Your attack and defense increase based on the items you have purchased *and* the number of spymasters you have. Regardless of how many items you have your stats are limited by your number of spymasters.

We've considered IP throttling before but like Blogspy said, it's not practical. Those set on cheating will just use proxies (or even just reset their router and likely get a new dynamic IP), whereas it could hurt our legitimate players (multiple people playing in an office or at home is one example). – Ben Myles, on October 22, 2009 19:35

The recent assassination/encounter changes have been rolled back. The only new thing that remains is an extra cap on the cash/loot you can receive so that, for example, a L1 with $2000 can't win $10M and a supercar from one win. The cap is relative to the winner's existing assets, so it probably won't even effect most of you.

You don't get experience from medium and high targets? That doesn't make sense. Look the only change we made regarding this is that if you attack someone much weaker than you (based on their stats, level is irrelevant) then you're not going to get any cash, xp or loot. That's it. Yes, it makes it harder to level up, but it's to stop newer players from being mass attacked by you guys trying to gain XP. It's supposed to be hard to level up. Maybe it hasn't been in the past, but that wasn't our intent.

I'm telling you that the risk level now matters. It's to encourage you to go attack people around the same strength as yourself (or stronger) rather than picking on weaker players just to buff up your xp. It has nothing to do with your spy ring, it is the strength of your opponent. You can still be considerably stronger than your opponent and gain xp, you'll only not get xp if you attack someone much, much weaker than you. – Ben Myles, on September 05, 2009 09:28

Higher level doesn't mean they're stronger than you. It's all about the risk level. – Ben Myles, on September 05, 2009 08:20
