Please consider prioritizing official SuSE support wrt: CDH . Your documentation at http://www.cloudera.com/hadoop-config... does not at all accommodate an effortless SuSE installation. E.g. your document gives explicit instructions to use the 'yum' command ... understandable if CDH is *only* officially supported on RH .... hopeful that is not the case.(for too much longer)

Also, the install/config requires uid=root privileges for many steps. If possible, please consider minimizing (to zero?) the necessity of uid=root privs to install CDH ...
