It didn't hold up on the page change, so I grabbed source code for the page with the error and without the error. It's easy to make mistakes doing this, but I did not see any difference between the two pages' codes. I am handicapped by not knowing exactly where to look. I can't understand why this would happen across platforms and across browsers.

I just installed Safari 3.2, a recent release, and it did not fix the problem.
The tiny web site that did load correctly uses a different style, so I am having a hard time knowing whether the code for the tools is native to the page or referenced from home base. I can supply copies of code if there are no security issues and I can resurrect the "fixed" page I had to close for the 3.2 install.
I don't know your weekend scheduling, and I would rather not keep anyone. We also have tomorrow, that it will be late in the day in SA by the time I am conscious.

Screen shot of defective toolbar, FYI: http://www.linkwriter.synthasite.com/
I don't need this fixed tonight any more but by tomorrow night. All suggestions welcomed, even though it is probably domestic.

I can now add the following: the toolbar is not loading on Safari or Firefox in two different computers and on two different user accounts (my wife has an account too). I made a new site on my account and it also lacks the toolbar. Various disk and browser clean-ups have had no effect. The connection seems sound. If I can get it to load on one of the tiny sites again, I'll compare the code to the sites that aren't loading to see if it is present or not.

The toolbar sometimes loads on one of my single-page websites but not always. – Bengo, on November 22, 2008 23:20

I was just coming in to take this down. The problem seems to have resolved and I can't link it to any cause or action. When it happened, the buttons were either invisible and did not work, or visible as boxes and did work. It only changed status if I changed sites or logged in or out. If it recurs I'll contact support with a screen shot and description. Sorry to have you chasing a ghost.

Thanks. I know title is a low standards priority, but that's not my goal. The functionality they offer is popular in my field, cartooning, where they can be used to reward mousing about by producing hidden text. If there is an alternate way to do that, I'd love to know about it. Pop-up widgets might be one possibility.
In your example above, where would that code be placed? I am not specifically following your guidance in terms of the geographic placement of the code in relation to an image.
I really appreciate all your help.

Bengo asked a question in Yola on November 22, 2008 00:23:
Possible bug - need to resolve by Saturday midnightI've got a bug with the editor. The problem shows up on both Safari and Firefox.
The problem: the bottom row of tools on the header, such as fonts, font size and link editor, does not appear, or, more rarely, only appears as boxes (which are functional). I've had it for 24 hours, and emptying cache, removing cookies, browser re-start, etc. don't seem to help. The problem is noticeable especially on PsychedelicTreehouse.com and LilNyet.com. The tools DO appear for the minor site WebComicBloglist.synthasite.com.
Fortunately, tonight is the one night we don't post updates, so we have a little breathing time.
I've had so few problems that I hate to complain about even one which could even be my fault, but I can't seem to sort this one out on my own.
Thank you.

The format is pdf.
Predictably, they emphasize the importance of useful content for building site traffic.

I'm a client, not staff, but I can offer some thoughts. I think if you remove the Sinhalese phrases from the home page and the "Listen Music" (perhaps you mean Listen to Music?) page and reapply, you may be approved. After a few days, restore the Sinhalese portions. Your site is obviously an English site with some markers for Sinhalese-only visitors, and should not be excluded, in my opinion.
Alternately, you could put frames around the Sinhalese, to make them look more like art, and install them as images. The approval process may be computerized, so you'll need to remove all the Sinhalese font, even empty spaces. Do this by removing it and pasting a block of space bar spaces over the area while in an English font.
It's a shame that a beautiful language like Sinhalese is not yet supported, but I suppose they are going by number of speakers and haven't reached it yet.
If AdWords proves difficult, look at ProjectWonderful.com, a very friendly ad site. I use it myself. I host ads from them and advertise with them. You can see small ads I host on my sites such as LilNyet.com. They have a growing community of bloggers and crafters among their users, looking for places to advertise. Overseas sites might face more of a challenge but you don't know until you try. Best of luck to you.

Title tags for images?I've read the older posts and I am not clear on this. Can we edit title tags for images? (Typically, tags that generate pop-up text messages.) I know how to edit title tags for pages and ALT tags for images. Thanks!

Space bar and _ when establishing spaces in boxes like ALT, PAGE TITLE, and DESCRIPTIONWhen entering text strings in these boxes, do I need to insert _ between words to assure that individual words are searchable, or is the space bar sufficient?
Lil_Nyet _Comic or Lil Nyet Comic?
