Natalie, after reading numerous similar comments by angry people who have been exposed to porn at Twitter, I guess we need to vote with our feet and leave.

    Beseder18 asked a question in Twitter on June 22, 2009 09:55:

    Beseder18
I hate porn spam but apparently Twitter does not.
Is it okay to bombard Twitter users with porn spam with as long as it's not child porn? I found out I was being "followed" by a person I don't know. The spammer in question had "followed"437 other people in order to spread her filth throughout Twitter. I am fairly new to Twitter and checked her page since I didn't recognize her name and found that it was full of disgusting graphic details about what she wanted to do with men. I came to the support site and read the terms of service and found out that only child porn seems to be taboo here. http://twitter.zendesk.com/forums/262... I blocked her and I wrote to Twitter customer service. I got an inane reply from support@twitter.zendesk.com (Ticket #381027: not child pornography but d...) about how to add Twitter on Facebook-- a reply which completely ignored my reason for writing. I wrote back that I was not satisfied with their answer and with the scenario of being spammed by a porn site.

Twitter's official stance is "Twitter removes content promoting child pornography." However, that is not good enough. I wrote in my original letter to the help desk that I left Myspace when it became trashy and use Facebook because so far, it's not, but that if Twitter thinks any porn is okay unless it's child porn, I will be deleting my Twitter account. This is my last effort to get Twitter to reconsider and make Twitter a more family-friendly environment. I have no desire to look up who has "followed" me and stumble upon/ read the kind of filth I saw posted there.
