Rebuilding the index seems to be the solution to a lot of Postbox peculiarities. I hope that the rebuild index issues are addressed in upcoming releases. – Bex, on December 08, 2009 00:55-

Bex reported a problem in Postbox on December 07, 2009 07:31:
Junk on "Local" not displaying correctly after "Mark Folder Read" usageIn Junk mail folder for Local, when using "Mark Folder Read", Postbox does not always render the message list correctly. If the spam has no subject, no sender, and a date of 12/31/1969, then Postbox has marked it as junk, but displays the message as unread until you hover over the junk icon for that message; at which point it changes to display the appropriate read and junk status.
Hopefully the problem is trivial to fix. It is only a slight annoyance when using the program.

Bex replied on December 02, 2009 21:34 to the idea "Global Empty of Trash and Junk Mail" in Postbox:
Whether implementing this as a plug-in or as a part of the main program, it would be nice to have a way for Postbox to go through and compact/organize/take out the trash and then re-index the mail files at the same time.
This would be much welcomed, especially if it is something that we could have run at a certain time (e.g. a cron job, but one that would work across platforms).

"Mailto:" link in HTML message body does not work as expected (or at all)Receiving a message formatted in html with a link such as "mailto:uid@domain.com" results in Postbox seeing the link and formatting the text appropriately, but if you left-click on it then it does not actually do anything. No new message window or anything else. Right-clicking on the link does seem to work for the three options pertinent to email addresses.

A comment on the problem "Long messages do not display correctly" in Postbox:
This is just in a single message. The message is rather long, but then again other long messages display correctly with no trouble. Let me know if it would be helpful for me to send a screenshot or a copy of the message source. – Bex, on November 16, 2009 22:51

Long messages do not display correctlyLong long messages are not displaying correctly. It appears to be cutting them off early. When I look at the message source, the entire message is there, when viewing the message in the main Postbox. Sometimes it even stops mid-sentence and in the middle of a line, not necessarily at a point where word-wrap would make sense.
This is kind of major.

Bex shared an idea in Postbox on October 27, 2009 21:01:
Notification screen upon program updateUpon applying an update to Postbox, it would be nice if it displayed a screen (a la Firefox) which lets you know that the program was updated and had a link to the release notes.
Kind of a silly request, but it is nice to have that kind of feedback letting you know that the program did update itself and what it did.

Unread message count is inaccurateUnread message count displays wrong amount until the index is rebuilt. Rebuilding the index on that particular folder seems to change it to be correct, but re-indexing all contents does not always fix the display problem.
I want to say that this wasn't a problem, or at least wasn't as noticeable in previous versions. But lately it has gotten ridiculous. After a day and 100+ spam messages (most of which made it into the spam bin) the count is too high (even when taking into account the number of messages automatically deleted by filters and those shuttled into the spam bin).
Problem occurred with private POP3 accounts, and Gmail setup as a POP3 account.
I can provide an image if necessary.

BCC'd distribution lists cannot come before TO addresses without an errorWhen sending an email if the first recipient is a BCC to distribution list from the Address Book, and the second recipient is a TO followed by a valid address, then Postbox throws and error saying that the distribution list is not a valid address.
I have not tried other iterations of this problem. Fairly minor though since I just made sure that the TO went first and the BCC second, then everything worked appropriately.

Multiple message tabs auto-scroll to top when they lose focusWhen multiple tabs are open with messages, and you open a new message, the older messages auto-scroll to the top of the message.
This is not a huge problem, but it is annoying if you are trying to do research into other messages and want to keep a message open and pegged to one specific spot.
