when signing onto the AOL login page to authenticate ping.fm/aim/auth,

AOL returns with the message "Invalid devId or Site not registered." Seems to be a discrepancy between PING and AOL not allowing it to authenticate.

A comment on the problem "First SMS updated was truncated" in Ping.fm:

with that, i tried another update from SMS with a hyphen, and it worked! i checked my sent messages from my phone's log of the said problem and it should have sent the entire thing.. i guess it was just a user-side or my service's side bug. consider this issue squashed. thank you! – bface, on January 20, 2009 20:59

was excited to check up on the website to see that SMS is now supported, but my first update via SMS was truncated.

I tried to update with the message "just finished an hour-long youtube distraction" and it only posted "just finished an hour-long y"

i proceeded to then log into the website and make/correct my update there instead



since this was my very first SMS update, i cant figure out if it was SMS that was the problem or the hyphen character that was included (although i've never had any hyphen problems with updates via aim/email/web

A comment on the idea "Updates via text message" in Ping.fm:

i'm using Digsby for PC IM use.. but when im not at home, i'm signed onto AIM from my phone -- where 3rd party apps will not help me..

i'd also like to see support for AIM status updates through ping!

while it isn't the most efficient solution, it works for me since i'm signed onto AIMTXT from my phone 24/7..

what i do is, when i'm signed onto AIMTXT from my phone, i shoot ping.fm an instant message through text, and it updates all of my accounts.

is there a current ping.fm outage?

i posted both through IM and the dashboard about an hour ago with no update to any of my accounts.. ive been using ping.fm for a few days to a week already with no problems until today. previously, all posts would update all my accounts within seconds.

is there a way to check the status of the ping.fm service? the "recent posts" tab isn't too reliable, and i'd like to see if the problems i'm having at that moment are specific to me or to everyone on ping.

i'm very pleased with the service, and this problem (while a pretty big deal) is not going to turn me away from ping.fm, just wondering if my problem is global or if something is wrong with my account.
