Hi Emily, Thanks for the clarification! This has been reported in our bug tracking system as #886, and it appears that Safari does not support the click and drag image resizing. I'll add your comments to the ticket, and hopefully we'll be able to come up with a work-around for you :) – Rachel Pennig, on June 18, 2008 15:45

Rachel: I am using 2.0, with a platinum wiki. I mostly use Firefox, since I have quite a few images, but every once in a while, I forget, open Safari, and while everything else in 2.0 works *fantastically,* it's just the image re-sizing that doesn't appear to work. Hi Emily, PBwiki 1.0 does not support the use of Safari as an editor - is it possible to use another browser? Or, you can update your wiki to PBwiki 2.0 (which does support Safari) by going to www.pbwiki.com/2 – Rachel Pennig, on June 18, 2008 15:15

Also, I can't change image sizes in Safari... like click-and-dragging re-sizing that I can do in Firefox.

I still cannot edit on Safari, another member of my group has reported the same... our wiki is new and I opted to use 2.0 when signing up... any thoughts?

I was afraid a 'solution' would involve the combination of 'manual' and 'HTML'.
Let's hope the support gurus will somehow get that to work. There are many online visual editors out there that do support Safari.

In the meantime I'll struggle with the HTML ;)

"how to insert a linked image"

Can't do it in V2.0 using the editor, there are apparently two tickets requesting that feature.

"adjust how text flows around the image"

Can't do that with the editor, either. Here are a couple of threads discussing that issue.

Both of these tasks require manual editing of the HTML source code.

Wel, I do understand that that gives the option to insert an uploaded image. But I haven't figured out yet how to insert a linked image or how to adjust how text flows around the image.
As I understood that was / is possible through the Insert image button.

btw I'm on a Mac, I didn't state that in my previous post

You can't see the button because it's not there. The old 'Insert Image' button



has been replaced by this dialog (on the far right-hand side of the V2.0 editor):

Well, it appears to support Safari but not fully. The insert image button does not show, not in Safari, not in Firefox 2, not in Flock, not Firefox 3 beta.
That leaves me wondering: is it me or is there still something to work out?

Hi Matt,
We've released PBwiki 2.0, which supports Safari nicely. It works great, and as promised, I'm using PBwiki with the point-and-click editor just fine. Newly-created wikis are 2.0 by default now, and we're working now on bringing our existing user's wikis from 1.0 to 2.0 mode, which includes Safari support.

How does a statement that pbwiki's Point and Click mode does not work with Safari count as a solution to the problem? That's an acknowledgement that the problem is not solved.
