I've mocked up a feature like this for text and label input fields:

Let me choose between background images when exporting or saving.Let me choose between different background images before printing or exporting. Sometimes I want to export for the web, in which case I use more colorful background. However, if I'm printing, I like to use a wireframed black and white background to save ink.
Bi-Roller Disorder replied on May 21, 2009 19:54 to the idea "an "Annotations" layer" in Balsamiq:
I've thought of some more use cases for this:
1. I want to export mockups as PNG's to include in a document, either:
* with all markup visible in the PNG, or
* with only numbering visible in the PNG, so I can refer to those numbers later in the specification, or
* without any markup at all, assuming I'll add layers and information in the documentation itself.
Bi-Roller Disorder reported a problem in Balsamiq on April 16, 2009 20:38:
Properties window follows my mouse pointer and obscures controlsThe properties window pops below my mouse pointer even when I moved it out of the way. When I click a control, like a grid, to resize it, the properties window activates below my mouse pointer and I have to move it out of the way yet again. Then, when I click to activate the control, the properties window pops again. Won't the thing stay out of the way?

Open Containing Folder on PNG ExportWhen saving a PNG it would be nice to have an option on the confirmation screen to "open containing folder." Often I'll want to upload a PNG right after I save it, but I have to go to the folder explicitly.

Can't pay on Small Business side with Consumer Credit line.I couldn't pay with my consumer credit line in the Small Business section, but I could use a regular credit card. It seems rather ridiculous since the interest rate is so high on the consumer credit side that Dell stands to make a good amount of money allowing that kind of transaction.

Typing while a control is selected should begin editing of that control's text, if applicable.Typing while a control is selected should begin editing of that control's text, if applicable. Currently, you have to double-click a control to start typing.
A comment on the idea "Provide alignment and resize functions for selected controls." in Balsamiq:
It's just that everything is so tiny and i'm so old. Can you make a vision-imparied version of that control with black icons on white with a black background? – Bi-Roller Disorder, on January 10, 2009 19:26

* Align right
* Align left
* Align middle
* Make same size
Bi-Roller Disorder shared an idea in Balsamiq on January 10, 2009 19:00:
Display screen boundaries and user-defined "resolution guides" on mockups.Choose a screen resolution and define "usable area" and have Balsamiq show you outlines for your browser choice. For example, if you choose a 1024x768 screen, then pick 960x700 for a "viewable", Balsamiq would draw dashed lines on your screen to represent the horizontal and vertical limits in a rectangle. You could show/hide them for printing and export. You could use them to constrain your drawing. You could draw outside of the lines and use the lines to show where the "fold" is.
