I'm really astonished by Shefftim's comments - I'd love to see some research done on this, because I'm sure the majority of users would expect the search box on site x to search site x.

However, if Shefftim is correct, then why can't the BBC search box be made to remember that last time, I selected "BBC News & Sport" only, and default to that next time? It only needs a cookie.

Commenters able to edit or preview own comments?

As far as I can see, there is no way for a commenter who isn't signed up with Intense Debate to edit a comment they've left. Is there something I've missed? My commenters like to be able to check their spelling and HTML after theyve posted, so I really need either self-edit, or preview, and I don't want to tell everyone they have to sign up with ID first.
