Technical Support for CAPTCHA codesIt has come to our attention recently that there are some issues regarding the CAPTCHA codes used in registration for Good Data. I would like to take to take this opportunity to start the first of a series of posts to help you answer common questions.
In Internet Explorer 8, CAPTCHA codes do not render.
To get around this, it is possible to run IE 8 in Compatibility mode. However, Good Data does not yet support IE 8. We plan to have full support for IE 8 in approximately 10 weeks.
I don't use IE 8, and CAPTCHA codes still do not render

Ray Light replied on March 27, 2009 19:21 to the problem "Changing Global Metrics Doesn't Update Reports" in GoodData:
Hi Nathan,
This is a really interesting use case that we've debated internally, and as you mention, there are strong arguments on both sides. A key factor in the current implementation was that if a Global Metric is deleted, then this shouldn't "break" all reports that were created using the metric.
However, in the modification use case you describe, it's clear the opposite behavior would be more beneficial. I will definitely bring this up with the crew and explore ways and options of dealing with us. If you have any additional suggestions regarding this topic, please let us know!
Thanks!

We're aware of this, and actually have it fixed in test builds. I think you will notice a big improvement when this feature is released. All entries will be preceded by an icon to show the type of entry, and multiple similar entries by the same user will be aggregated into one entry. In addition, long entries will be truncated with the option to see "more." It's a big improvement, and it looks very nice, too! This will be added to the live service in a couple weeks.
Thanks!
Ray Light replied on March 27, 2009 16:32 to the question "Table Sorting Enhancements" in GoodData:
Ironically, in the first versions of Good Data, we had something almost exactly as you described: a separate Sort button for advanced sorting.
We are aware of the current problems here and a fix will be released soon. I like your idea of using the sort indicators for a primary sort only, and will add this to our enhancement log.
Thanks!
Ray Light replied on March 27, 2009 15:16 to the idea "Data Tab Submenu" in GoodData:
Thanks for the suggestion, Nathan! We have re-vamped this section in our current test builds, and removed "Dimension" entirely. In its place, we have added the ability to add folders under Attributes. I hope this addresses your concern here.
Regarding the order, I like your idea. We will be modifying this area and discussing improvements in upcoming releases. I will enter this suggestion in our enhancement tracker. Thanks again!

Ray Light replied on March 23, 2009 18:55 to the question "Table Sorting Enhancements" in GoodData:
You're right, there's currently no way at the moment to distinguish between primary and secondary sorts. We are aware of this and will implement something soon to fix this.
In regards to removing a sort, you can click the sort icon again to turn it off. Making this more intuitive will also be included in any fix. Thanks for the feedback!

Ray Light replied on January 28, 2009 22:26 to the problem "Incorrect import of tables in UTF-8" in GoodData:
I just wanted to post an update to this issue... we are currently working on a fix for this, and we will be able to accept UTF-8 in an update in the near future. We will post again once the version is released, but just wanted to let you know we didn't forget, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention!
Ray Light replied on December 09, 2008 11:00 to the problem "Unable to parse a valid CSV file" in GoodData:
Thanks for alerting us to this. In regards to this file, there are a couple things that I notice right away, and other things that are a bit more complicated. Someone here is working with this file to replicate everything, and then give a more detailed answer in the other post (http://getsatisfaction.com/gooddata/t... ).
Thanks for the detailed feedback!
