Hey, no prob. Yoono 6 is fantastic, and I'm itching to discover how much MORE useful it will be when this feature is implemented. :) – Bill, on June 05, 2009 19:29

Hi. First of all thanks Adam for your prompt reply, I would have responded earlier too had my week not been ridiculously busy.
I actually wasn't suggesting that Yoono pull Facebook's data on which friends the user has chosen to hide. It would be just as useful if Yoono could duplicate this functionality--perhaps by adding a "hide updates from this friend" item in the context menu of each update.
My rationale for this is threefold:
1. Many users probably don't know about the "hide" feature anyway, so importing Facebook's "hide" data wouldn't be helpful for them.
2. Users who know about it might not want to hide friends on the Facebook web client, but might only want to hide them on Yoono. Think about it. You choose when to browse Facebook on the web. Yoono, on the other hand, pushes information to you through popups and notifications. Yoono users have more of a reason to hide updates from certain friends.
3. In FACT, because of this difference in the updating methods of Yoono and the web client, it might be more complicated than users only wanting to hide friends on Yoono. They might want to hide friends on both, but they might want to hide MORE friends, or at least a different set of friends, on Yoono. In this case, importing hide data from Facebook would not only be technically unfeasible but actually counterproductive from a user's perspective.
I hope this is convincing and not too long-winded! :)

Hiding Facebook Friends from Displaying in Status Timeline in Yoono 6People have been rightfully confused lately about the disappearance of the stars feature, which allowed the user to "filter" his or her news feed. The reps say that a revamped and more robust feature is on the way. But honestly, just the ability to hide certain friends from the Facebook stream--the way the web interface allows you to do--would be enough for me.
This could coexist with whatever new stars concept is planned (just as Fb has both "hidden" friends and "friend lists" on the web client-- both of which I use). That would make Yoono more useful to me *right now* while also leaving the door open for improvements down the road.
A comment on the question "My Stars won't work properly" in Yoono:
Honestly just the ability to hide certain friends from the Facebook stream would be enough for me.
Fb friendship has become so meaningless that ~50% of my friends are annoying people I don't care about at all-- but whom I'm vaguely afraid of offending by unfriending them. – Bill, on May 30, 2009 20:23-

Hi, how about giving users an option to *remove* the recommended stories box? I've been considering setting Streamy as my home page, but I just want the page to be filled with my *own* Fb, Twitter, and RSS. – Bill, on May 28, 2009 00:39

Bill reported a problem in Streamy on May 25, 2009 00:01:
Sidebars on left & right take up too much screen real estateLook at how much wasted space is underneath them! I feel lucky that I have a widescreen monitor, if not I don't think I'd bother with this site. On iGoogle I can comfortably fit three columns of data, but on Streamy, having more than two makes them too scrunched up to read. And on the main page, one of those columns is unchangeable anyway! More information I can fit into a reasonable layout = more useful the site is to me.
Bill asked a question in Streamy on May 24, 2009 23:53:
Can I remove the "good morning" news widget and design my front page from scratch? There's no option to delete it, but it's superfluous to me. I have my own RSS feeds, thanks. Love the site otherwise.
Or--even better--can I just make my own custom tabs a la iGoogle?
