About the edit page error, this is normal behaviour for a check-in/check-out designed system. It is there so that when two or more users edit one page at the same time, one user doesn't overwrite someone else's changes.
The cause of performance degradation is likely caused by one or a combination of things:
1. Pbwiki server load/connection to the internet (which I think is highly unlikely)
2. Your school's connection to the internet
2. An external factor outside of pbwiki/your school, which include Hawaii's internet backbone ... or somewhere along that path.

Wikistyle bold and linking bugsAn un-needed line break is entered between a bolded link and the rest of the sentence in a bulleted item. For example:
* **[http://www.google.com|Google.com]** is a search engine.
Cannot bold a wikystyle link in a normal sentence. Creates a line break between the link and the rest of the text. It also makes the rest of the text a bulleted item. The ** is visible before the link as normal text.
My awesome **[http://www.google.com|Google]** link.

external links open in new windowIt would be nice if the wikistyle for links is able to determine if the link is an internal or external link, and then automatically make external links open in a new window. This is standard usability best practice for links.
Yes, I know you can add the target="_blank" attribute and value within an <a> tag. I find it much cleaner maintaining pages without having to resort to HTML.

Like furiousgreencloud, I'm able to create additional wikis from the account settings page. Administrator access is retained when logging in and out... so I think this issue is only applicable for the first wiki site created during account setup. I've tried adding the original wiki page to the "My Wikis" list, but do not have authorization to do so.
