got it... you were close on the phone # its actually the address data in gmail exports out as
LABEL;TYPE=HOME=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:"a bunch of text for address"
Doesn't look like sandy can handle this input... I don't know if its non standard, I'm guessing the fault is on Sandy's side.
... now what I don't understand is my initial failures with just the two vcard ID"s. Those shouldn't have failed and in fact if I import that same file now Sandy accepts them!

im XP32/Pro and FF3... sandy will accept a single entry from me but not more. From the above post example i can do either entry but not bot together in a vcf file.

I tried a couple of different entries and doesn't look like sandy want's to parse more than one... format doesn't seem to be an issue just multiple vcards in the file.

I'm running windows XP64, using FireFox3.. My vcard looks like this (sanitized):
BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:3.0
FN:Bob Jones
N:Jones;Bob;;;
EMAIL;TYPE=INTERNET:bobjones@hotmail.com
END:VCARD
BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:3.0

EMAIL;TYPE=INTERNET:janejones@comcast.net
END:VCARD
I simply attached it to an email to sandy (via gmail), with no subject or body (Aside my from sig). During the export, I chose "vCard" format, and saved it as "contacts(4).vcf".

Whats your platform? i'm running xp and saving the .vcf to local hdd and then sending it to sandy as an attachment. Did you put anything in the subject or body?
I just did my 'most contacted' which is 20 entries and it failed. Sandy replied "I got your email but couldn't find anything you asked me to do. Let's see if we can quickly remedy that:...."
here is a snip from the first two entries... in my .vcf (modified user info)
BEGIN:VCARD

Hi bloftin.
Fwiw, there's a third-party application called TwitterSnooze that lets you temporarily unfollow someone, then automatically re-follow them after a period of time that you specify.
Some people use it to temporarily unfollow folks who are live-tweeting a conference or an event.
Oh, and I suggest reading the disclaimer and fine print on the site before deciding to use it.

mdy,
I think your right. Sounds like I was confused about the functionality. I really didn't want to boot some of the more chatty tweets from my follow list but I guess for now that is the solution.
I have seen some people ask for a 'quiet' period function maybe well see that adapted by the twitter team.
Thanks for the assist!

Yes, this confused me for a while too.
From what I can tell, the commands "off" and "leave" only affect device notifications for a particular user. They don't actually Unfollow the user.
So, for example -- if you're currently following @jasoncalacanis and you have device notifications set to ON for him, sending 'off jasoncalacanis' or 'leave jasoncalacanis' will set device updates to OFF. You'll get a confirmation message that's somewhat like this:
You've left jasoncalacanis's updates. Send 'get jasoncalacanis' anytime to get jasoncalacanis's latest update, 'follow jasoncalacanis' to follow again.
Although the message above implies that you no longer follow Jason, the OFF command didn't actually Unfollow him. Therefore if you were to go to the Twitter website at this point, you'll see that you're still following Jason.
So -- you're still following him but you've set device notifications to OFF. If you now send 'off jasoncalacanis' again from your phone or im, Twitter checks your device notification settings, sees that you already have those off for Jason, and sends you this very misleading reply...
Can't find that person. Did you misspell the name?
... when really it should have said, "You already have notifications off for jasoncalacanis. Did you want to turn notifications off for someone else?"
I don't know of a command to unfollow someone from im or sms (except maybe block, which unfortunately does A LOT more than just unfollow). If I need to unfollow someone, I have to go to the Twitter website to unfollow.
