The Blue-Green Marble replied on June 24, 2009 19:56 to the problem "Help submitting help ticket - broken dropdown" in Twitter:
I finally found the link to open a request/submit a ticket!
The URL is: http://twitter.zendesk.com/requests/new
It is linked to from http://help.twitter.com/home, but it is way down in the page buried at the end of the article entitled "Find people on Twitter: Twitter Search!". (Why it should be located there....?)
The text reads:
"Twitter, Help!
Did something go wrong? Let us know!"
The article that follows it is entitled "The Official Twitter Text Commands".
I am glad to have finally found it. Hope this helps you, too.
I do hope Twitter will revise their page to make it easier to navigate to / find.
It seems to me that such a link should be on the "Check your existing requests" page as well as prominently featured in a side module of the Help Resources.
The Blue-Green Marble replied on June 24, 2009 19:18 to the problem "Help submitting help ticket - broken dropdown" in Twitter:
After following the "Help" link on Twitter.com to http://help.twitter.com/home, I found a reference to "Submit a ticket and choose 'other' from the drop down box..." but no reference to where this is located and no link to reach it.
It appears that others have successfully submitted tickets as these opened issues can be viewed in the forums and can be commented upon. There is also a tab to "Check your existing requests". However, I have not been able to find the link to actually open a request/submit a ticket.
The only thing I did find was the module to submit to getsatisfaction.com/twitter which is, of course, how I ended up here.
Pleas to read FAQs and the like before submitting a request notwithstanding, I fail to see why the link to open a ticket should be buried so.
And if anyone can direct me on where to find it, that would be much appreciated.
The Blue-Green Marble replied on June 19, 2009 18:23 to the question "Broken link to download Miro for Windows from Miro Guide" in Participatory Culture Foundation (Miro):
Thanks for the rapid response, Dean.
I checked out the (previously broken) link. It no longer displays an error msg.
However, while the "Download for Windows" button is still linked to http://subscribe.getmiro.com/download... , this URL now appears to produce the download of the subscribe.miro file rather than downloading the Miro program itself.
Shouldn't it be linked to the same file (namely Miro_installer.exe) as at http://www.getmiro.com/download/for-w... - which is the download for Miro 2.0 itself?
Thanks!
Feel free to contact me if I'm not expressing the issue clearly.

Profile image does not display in my Twitter WidgetI've had no problem with my background or profile image on Twitter itself.
However, my Twitter Widget does not display my profile avatar.
I have helped embed these for some other users, and theirs display properly while mine does not. My profile avatar does not show up on the preview when creating the widget, nor on live sites once embedded.
My profile image is in JPG format. I've tried viewing it on both Macs and Windows computers with both Firefox and Safari and my profile avatar does not show up on my Twitter Widget. I have also gone back and looked at my friends' Twitter Widgets that I had helped to embed and theirs still display properly.

Broken link to download Miro for Windows from Miro GuideFYI,
http://subscribe.getmiro.com/download... results in an Error 404:
"Not Found
The requested URL /download/for-windows was not found on this server.
Apache Server at subscribe.getmiro.com Port 80"
Example: If you go to www.miroguide.com and choose to "Add feed to Miro" it directs you to subscribe.getmiro.com. Here it begins the subscription to the particular feed. Without Miro installed it still successfully opens/downloads the subcribe.miro file, but also appropriately displays the following:
"Download Miro for Windows"
(a linked button to Download Miro 2.0
- linked to http://subscribe.getmiro.com/download... )
"100% Free for Windows"
When you click on the link, however, it displays the aforementioned Error 404.
I went to getmiro.com and was able to find the appropriate download at the following URL:
http://www.getmiro.com/download/for-w...
So, broken link on miroguide.com needs to be fixed one way or another.
