Now just imagine if I had spent more than 30 seconds in Photoshop visualizing my frustrations. I might get a personal visit from a Cablecast programmer. ;) – bmackey, on November 25, 2009 20:02

I was afraid someone would bust out the SQL card. I was looking for something a little bit easier than messing with our database but I guess that is what you would have to do. The last thing I need to do is mess that up so perhaps I'll mess with it after the holiday. Thanks for the tip, I'm sure it will help out greatly.

Free Show IDsToday we removed a location from our Tightrope setup. We were warned that deleting a location will cause you to lose all data and orphan your shows. We were fine with that because they were just duplicates of our other location. I guess we expected the show ID #'s from our deleted location to just become Free Show ID's.
Is there a way to make that happen or are we stuck with 1,100 show IDs in limbo?
Thanks,
Brad

SX2 DVD Drive InstallationWould it be a good idea to install a DVD Drive to our SX2 so we don't have to transfer the file between computers?
Before I start messing around with such an expensive piece of equipment I thought I would ask here.
Thanks

Multiple Check BoxesI found this on Monday and thought it could be useful for Cablecast users.
If you are running Firefox you can install the CheckBoxMate add-on and select multiple check boxes at once. Simply click on one box and drag down to select more. :)
Here is the link to the download.

I know this has been one feature that I have wanted implemented into Cablecast for some time.

My first idea was to link to the Web Channel Preview from our site but that idea was vetoed by my boss due to her design concerns with the carousel layout of that page.
:(
Linking to the channel's output might be a workable option. I'll have to run it past her and see if that flies.
Thanks for the tips.

I know this idea was posted almost 4 years ago but recently I was asked to do this very thing for our Drupal website. Does anyone have a good idea on how to make this happen? Currently the only thing I have is some sloppy javascript that can process jpeg files uploaded to our web server. The only downside of this is that I have to upload images to Carousel and then to the javascript slideshow on our Drupal site. Double the work doesn't sound like a good idea right now. Any ideas on how to make this easier?
(here is a link to the slideshow test in Drupal if anyone is interested. http://mediaprodweb.madison.k12.wi.us...)

iTunes like scheduling.Over the years we have found at our station that an iTunes like random fill function would be great for our channel.
Let me explain....
With iTunes you can rate your music and the highest rated stuff gets played the most during random plays. We would like to do something similar with our scheduling. Have the shows we like more play more often and the shows with less of a rating play less. It would be great if the schedule could just populate itself without us having to take a few days each month just to fill it up.
Does anything like this exist?
Thanks,
Brad
