Thanks for the tip! It looks like this version of Boxee found and crawled the USB drive alias located in users/frontrow/movies via the default "Local Movies" source. I removed this source and now all is right in Boxee land.

After experiencing problems with my library, I cleared all metadata and then re-added the local USB drive source, and now just about every item in my library (especially TV shows) displays 2 listings.

Any chance users / businesses will get the ability to display official URLs / links of places at the top of a placestream? I'd love to be able to click through to a business's official website if the comments + pictures seem interesting. Maybe it's a music venue, and I'd like to see the event calendar. It could be at the bottom of the page to promote checkins + posts.

Dave / gkamin, any word on a future Boxee ability to play iTunes DRM content? I previously used Sapphire to watch DRM'd movies stored on an external HD connected to my ATV, and would love to be able to do this with Boxee.

Although Twitter handles @replies ending in a period (i.e. @twinkle.) by truncating the "." when processing @profile links, by default, Twinkle includes the period, thus creating an incorrect link (i.e. "http://www.twitter.com/twinkle."). This is a problem when tapping on @reply links in the Twinkle iPhone app.

Thanks for the response, Matt. I should have updated the initial post. Right after sharing, I deleted and re-added Last.fm and then switched it off in the "Show these accounts:" dropdown. But I'm still receiving Last.fm updates in my friendstream. Am I doing it wrong?

Fewer Last.fm Personal Listening Notifications

Is it possible to slow down or discontinue the notifications of my personal Last.fm listens? I'd prefer to receive them in a bundle (maybe every 6-12 hours) or hide them from myself but show them to others.

Does that make sense? Instead of receiving a notification every time I start/stop listening to music.

Yeah, it'd be cool to see a thumbnail of an uploaded JPG, GIF, PNG, or other web-standard image file. Unless I'm just being impatient, and the thumbnail of my uploaded file has just not yet appeared...

Link, Truncation, Special Character Awareness

Plurk and Twitter (and Facebook, too) handle the processing of links, posts over 140 characters, and special characters in a different manner. Therefore, one overlong post, a post w/ a link, or a smiley across these services could appear as 3 different posts.

It would be cool if Socialthing! knew how different services dealt with these anomalies and output one beautiful post.
