A comment on the discussion "Imac Screen Burn-In" in Apple:
Yup, they are the same LCD quality, Most likely you are looking at a Samsung SyncMaster LCD (since they are the main LCD makers for Apple). – Alex, on August 19, 2008 17:15

don't want to go off on a tangent - i will say, for the record, I did notice the menu bar being as persistent as it is did cause burn in on a BenQ LCD monitor I previously owned from a 1st gen mac mini. I was using screen & energy savers - it really was the result of a hell of a lot of uptime in front of the screen crankin away!
i hear the LCDs on the iMac are of the same quality as their laptop LCDs - anyone verify this? if so, I concur, I would not expect burnin on the iMac either.

A comment on the idea "The iPhone should have a search feature" in Apple:
I'd rather have Apple itself make good apps then third party developers. But that's just me. – Leon, on June 14, 2008 09:13

i mean "They" is Apple corp. But any other iPhone developer should be able to make Spotlight for iPhone. Then again - Quick Silver for iPhone would be even better! .) – Eimantas, on June 14, 2008 09:03

What do you mean by any other iPhone developer? I'm talking about Spotlight for iPhone. – Leon, on June 14, 2008 08:59

It's quite unlikely that your iMac will get burn-in, but there are a few things you can do to help.
Go to System Preferences. Click Energy Saver.
Make sure a time is set to put the display to sleep.
That's it! This will ensure that the screen isn't on for long periods of time! If you like, an alternative is to set a screen-saver (literally, that's what screen-saver means).
Good luck!
bobleponge replied on June 02, 2008 00:02 to the question "How do I remove songs from my iPhone?" in Apple:
Unless you follow Thomas's advice, any songs in your iTunes library will be synced to your iPhone (or iPod). To remove songs you no longer would like to have, just delete them from your library.
For Thomas's solution, just change the iPhone settings (the ones that appear when you connect it to your computer) to sync only selected playlists. Good luck!
bobleponge replied on June 01, 2008 23:55 to the question "Will the new Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ4K Digital Camera work w/ Mac?" in Apple:
Since it is a mainstream digital camera and takes pictures in JPEG format, it should work flawlessly with iPhoto. It is possible that there are some features (e.g., voice memos) that do not work without installing the software that comes on the CD. However, if you are just using it to take pictures and movies, it will work very well, even if it is not officially supported on the Mac.
Good luck!
