I honestly don't believe people understand the implications behind supporting the shark finning industry. Restaurant owners and consumers need to realize that the negative impact seen in our world's oceans through the ruthless slaughter of sharks for nothing more than their fins has been well documented. It is a practice that has been long identified with organized crime not to mention the inhumanity towards sharks.

If there are restaurants in your city that serve shark fin soup or other shark dishes, contact the Animal Welfare Institute (AWI) at: nosharkfinning@awionline.org

Forget trying to stop the restaurants on Yelp's website, they require you to have eaten at the restaurant to review it. I thought this would have been a good angle, but I was rejected also... and I don't want to pretend like I ate at a restaurant that actually supports the finning industry.
