A comment on the problem "Cloning a project doesn't clone the versions" in hedgehog lab:
Yeah I don't think versions need cloning and the release dates point is a good one. The paricular project I was cloning had generic and undated versions (1.0, 1.1) and it would have been handy in that case to clone them, but generally I would say that versions shouldn't be cloned. So just the text needs changing. – bon, on October 27, 2009 00:59

Cloning a project doesn't clone the versionsWhen creating a new project, if you select another project as a template, the versions from that project aren't copied over even though the blurb underneath the dropdown states that they will be.

Empty changelog entries when changing estimatesThought this had been reported before but I couldn't find it after searching. If you edit a ticket and change any of the estimates (due date, effort, fix for version) it creates an empty entry in the changelog.

Projects dropdown listJust an idea, it'd be nice if the 'Projects' menu item showed a dropdown list of the current active projects when you hover over it, and clicking an item would take you to the project overview.

Is the "Viewing X of Y issue(s)" a system-wide thing? The "Viewing X of Y issue(s)" links on individual tickets is handy but it seems to be system-wide rather than restricted to the current project or the current area. Is this right? If so it could be improved by being restricted to the current project/filter/area.

Create areas on the flyWhen a project is just starting out, often it won't have many items added to the 'Area' section until ad admin starts adding them. It would be great to allow administrators to add an area on the fly when writing a new ticket. Eg. the bottom option in the 'Area' dropdown could say "Add new..." and a modal dialog would allow you to enter the name of a new area which then gets automatically added to the project.

Description text area sizeThe "Description" text area when writing a new bug is quite small. I'm sure TinyMCE has an option (mceResize?) to show a corner grabber thing to allow users to resize the text area by dragging it. This would be a nice to have.

Okay I understand now. That interface is confusing.
How I see it is that the "Enter absolute path of file to export" field sounds like it's asking for an existing file. I thought it was asking for the location of your database file so it can be exported but I now see it's asking for an arbitrary filename to save the export to.
bon asked a question in hedgehog lab on July 30, 2009 00:53:
How to backup & restoreFrom the Administration -> Backup & Restore tab there's no indication of where I might be able to find the file that I should be entering the location of in order to backup my database.
Also turning the two text inputs into file inputs would help greatly.
