A comment on the question "Follow requests show in public!" in Tapulous:
What happens is that I enter Twinkle, make a new message, enter "follow xyz", and then "follow xyz" appears on both my twitter stream and the "near me" stream. It only appears for users of Twinkle, though -- it's invisible on other clients and the Twitter site itself. – bonaldi, on August 13, 2008 16:18-
