A comment on the question "Can we have old albums and classics over new artists?" in Spotify:
it's a mixed bag of bands i knew that was lacking their best albums on spotify, just for the sake of example. but i do hope that i have turned your ears in the direction of some quality listening session. – boo9, on August 30, 2009 15:06
boo9 asked a question in Spotify on August 28, 2009 17:10:
Can we have old albums and classics over new artists?I seem to find that i constantly see new bands and albums added. what i find anoying is the amount of old albums missing from bands that are on spotify.
I do understand that some of the classic albums are on lables that you do not have deals with yet. and some labels might not be interested in releasing the classics for spotify to preserve CD sales, what do i know.
I have personal tastes ofcourse, and i cant seem to find someone with the exacly same taste, but some of the more popular bands need their old classics in the catalogue.
some examples include:
Rage,
Iced Earth
Dark Tranquillity
Dream Evil
Testament
Death
King diamond
Gamma ray
You get the picture, there is quite a few bands i can mention on the fly, that lack older material, and classics.
there is ofcourse a need to keep up to date with new stuff, but people like the classics, thats why they became metal clasics in the first place.
Also i know that manny people will disagree on my opinion (and taste in music) but how am i to have spotify my way, if i don't voice my opinion? right?

have a request dropdown menu with the folowing menu items; request newest/next album, request older albums (quite alot of longliving minor metalbands have only late ninties to precent day material, while the stuff that is worth listening to was in the eighties.)
and "request band to be added"
clicking one of them would open a textbox where you could specify what you wanted added.
what do you think?
