Boris replied on April 17, 2009 21:35 to the problem "Occasional small skips in song" in Songbird:
Bug #14891 is fixed on trunk.
songbird.mediacore.output.buffertime is set to 2000 ms by default on all the platforms.
That would be good to have a feedback from users who experienced this problem.
You can try the latest 1.2.0a builds at:
http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Develope...
and check it with the files you had a problem with? You can comment directly in a bug.
Thanks.

A comment on the problem "songbird doesn't load in ubuntu 8.10" in Songbird:
You just used one of the workarounds.
The problem is with some non-free nVidia beta drivers.
Look at this bug report:

Songbird should work with no problem on any Windows platforms.
What your DEP setting is set to?

Boris replied on April 08, 2009 20:51 to the question "mediacore error: Connection Refused" in Songbird:
Was it always like that with Songbird?
Can you play audio with any other player?
Can you please, go to System->Preferences->Sound and make sure your 'Sound Playback' is set to Autodetect, not to ALSA or PulseAudio.
That might fix the problem...
And make sure, there is no other application running that night usee the same audio output.
Here is a bug in Pulse Audio (I've seen similar one resolved as WontFix for older Fedora 8):

Boris replied on April 02, 2009 22:30 to the question "Is there a way to sort albums in filter pane view by year?" in Songbird:
Currently, there is no way to do it in a library view.
There is a feature suggestion filed in Bugzilla to implement this.

Boris replied on April 02, 2009 17:59 to the question "What was the last version of Songbird for Intel-based Macs running Tiger and where do I find it?" in Songbird:
Caitlin,
We've never provided separate installers for Tiger vs Leopard.
The only different packages where for PPC and MacIntel.
So, I'm pretty sure you can download .dmg file for Mac Intel nighlty builds at:
http://wiki.songbirdnest.com/Develope...
or get the Songbird 1.1.1 final build 1018 at:
http://getsongbird.com/
It should run fine on Tiger.
Thanks.

Boris replied on April 02, 2009 00:24 to the problem "Possible Genre Corruption when using both SB & iTunes" in Songbird:
This seems to be very common problem according to the number of users replying to this post.
There is one problem for files imported from iTunes which seems to be an iTunes bug, not Songbird.
More info in a Bug #15303
Also, there is a Bug #15971; looking similar (adding numbers in a Genre field) which has nothing to do with iTunes. That one is about to be fixed pretty soon.
So, stay tuned and re-test this issue with the latest builds, when our bug is fixed.
Thanks.

Thanks for your prompt reply(being upset doesn't help to make it look nice).
But, if being upset actually helped to fix packman packages(as indicated by users), that's great.
And now when the packages are fixed you're "thinking of withdrawing the openSuSE packages from your server."
regarding 100MB tar.gz?
...it's really growing when being dropped in your test machines...
As far as I can see, our tar.gz are 16.7MB for 32 bits and 17.9MB for 64 bits

Boris replied on March 14, 2009 05:42 to the question "buffer overflow detected on startup of 1.1" in Songbird:
Nathan,
I understand your concern.
In a same bug report I mentioned that RPM packages provided by Packman are not created by Songbird team.
Songbird team is dedicated to the quality of the product and we will happily debug and fix any problem in rpm packages once we officially support them.
Please, e-mail the package maintainer and tell him that all the packages (even in an open source environment) should be tested, maintained and supported by a package creators/maintainers.
Thanks.
