Startup Science Fair

We plan on inviting investors and industry experts to join us over a 2 hour lunch break. One of the events during lunch will be a Startup Science Fair -- an area where startup or potential startup founders can share their ideas and meet potential advisors, cofounders, and funders. This could be as simple as two people and a laptop, or as complex as a poster board and a booth babe.

Do you like this idea? How would you want to see this run?

Connect multiple domains into one network?

I work at an incubator / shared space where there are multiple companies. This would be fantastic for internal communications ... but each company has a different domain. Get Satisfaction itself has a system where you can add / verify multiple domains to one account where people will be "employees" by default from that system.

I would like it if Yammer supported the same system.

Don't use fake names

Techvibes recently posted a GREAT article needling the local tech community in Vancouver. Unfortunately, a fake name (as far as we can tell) was used. It would be good to have an editorial introduction and explanation of the position on using fake names.

I would like to syndicate the material I add to urbanspoon using RSS feeds. Ideally, I'd like a feed for each of my profile tabs -- reviews, favorites, wishlists, votes, etc.

Have an optional "event wizard" to make it easy to setup different kinds of events. With all of the different options that Eventbrite has, it can be difficult to figure out where to toggle switches, set options, etc.

We're involved in helping out with DemoCamp and BarCamp in Vancouver, both of which are relevant to startups. We've been thinking about doing a StartupCamp to do more targeted training around Financing, Funding, Pitching, Legal and other starting-a-company information. What kind of events or education are you most interested in?
