A comment on the idea "Can we twitter placemark names instead of addresses?" in Brightkite:
The issue with the $place variable still displaying the full address in Twitter is a known problem and we are working to fix it. Thank you for your patience. :) – Lesley, on August 15, 2008 23:31

What is frustrating is being able to "customize" how Bkite sends updates to twitter, but not being able to override the automatic insertion of the (address/location) of your check-in place. Bkite gives us the option to customize "$place" yet still automatically inserts the address, city and state information, even though you can add "$city" and "$state". I wouldn't consider this buggy, it's more of a specifics and organizational issue.

Just sayin' that "only works if you are looking at a single feed" thing would make a _great_ addition to the invite email. I don't know how most people use Google Reader, but I put feeds into folders, and my default starting view is a folder, not a feed. I'm happy that I stumbled on to this explanation, but it would have been much easier if that little tidbit had only been included in the email.
Either way, though, thanks!
