Hello. I'm not yet aware of a tool for mass-deleting updates.
However, there *is* a third-party bookmarklet for mass-deleting Direct Messages. Click here for more info re: DM Deleter.

I'd like an option to disable or block this message, or maybe have it recognize if one of the devices is a mobile device. Every time I open aim on my computer I get a message there, and then a few seconds later my phone rings and i've got the message there too... I know my phone's logged in, it ALWAYS is logged in, stop telling me. – c0uch, on September 16, 2008 19:22

A comment on the question "Is there a desktop application for ping.fm?" in Ping.fm:
Aye - that worked - only had to run it as administrator once. Thanks :) – Marc, on September 05, 2008 17:59

Sounds like you may not have rights on the computer. If you login as admin you should be able to set it, then switch back to your normal account to use it. – Adam, on September 05, 2008 13:35

Saving the app key doesn't seem to work for me, any ideas? Does it create a .config file I can edit manually? – Marc, on September 05, 2008 08:56

Is it me, or does adding a * before a URL (to avoid shortening) not work from the app??? Regardless of that, a really cool feature would be to calculate the word count assuming the URL will be shortened (when there is no *). Otherwise you have to calculate manually.
Anyway, great app as it is. I use it a lot. Great for speed reporting earthquakes in Japan :-) – Andrew Shuttleworth, on September 03, 2008 02:30

In case other people encounter this problem, there's now a Troubleshooting FAQ page for this (only noticed it today).
See Twitter FAQ Page: My phone number or IM address is already taken!

you are missing the point. These are NAZIS. I'm just doing my best to be a good citizen. I tried to link to how these people on twitter come off twitter and use racist anti-semitic language elsewhere and you deleted the link. SHAME ON GET SATISFACTION. this was in the context of the dialog. The problem is that you don't want to see the bigotry, but I'm just fighting for the good guys. – Noah David Simon, on August 19, 2008 20:05

Yes, it is my understanding that he has been removed from Twitter, and I am doing my best to confirm this detail so that we may be able to put this topic to rest. – Eric Suesz, on August 18, 2008 19:50

I've been following all of these accusations of rape, libel, and everything else that seems to have little to do with people using Twitter.
I have to say that it seems we are moving away from any kind of productive outcome. Noah, Igor, amandachapel: You seem to have a long history of teaming up and/or sparring among yourselves, but I think that our community here at Get Satisfaction is growing tired of it. They've flagged this thread repeatedly (as well as other topics), and they're not all taking one side. They're fed up in general.
I can see that everyone here has strong feelings. This is a place where we attempt to accomplish productive goals, and I personally am not here to take sides; rather, to broker compromise. We don't see this as a place where people start, or continue, personal feuds. You can do all of that on your blogs or other online spaces where lengthy, angry retorts are encouraged.
I will do my best to let Twitter know that there is still a dispute here and see if I can get a response that is based on their policy (or that affirms what the situation is w/r/t Noah on Twitter, which is what this topic is ostensibly about), but I do hope that we can keep the conversation focused on Twitter and how Twitter deals with users who some people think are violating their rules. All of the other details don't really speak to the issue at hand. I'll be removing content that our users flag as inappropriate or that aren't in line with our community guidelines: http://getsatisfaction.com/community_...
