I hear you.. it happened like twice over the week and I know how Twitter's api can be a pain. I was just throwing out the syndication idea. Since you already have multiple services, it would be cool to be able to set one at the source. This would take care of the echoes since you wouldn't be posting back to your source service.

I think the main issue would be checking everyone's statuses on a regular basis. It would work fine for like 100 users, but 10k would be a nightmare.

I'd like to see support for syndicating from Twitter rather than posting through Ping.fm. Last week I had a few statuses that didn't get to Twitter, but got to other sites and that's really enough to stop me from using it. It's a great service, but it's also something you need to always work.

that's kid of the point.. i'm not sure what service it was, otherwise i would have just turned it off. changing the password allowed me to easily restrict access for whatever it was.

what can i say? i changed mine and it worked. I doubt they stole my password, but I probably was signed up for some service that inadvertently was auto-following my followers.. I haven't had it happen again since.

Not using either of those.. my account is public, I would like people to be able to see and follow me, I just don't want to have to follow everyone.

When I unfollow people, several days later all of my followers will be back on my following list. It's frustrating because everyone that wants me to follow them can just follow me and I'm stuck with a cluttered timeline.

updates are going through, but no replies are coming back. last night the SMS number worked through Verizon, but replies aren't coming back now...

Email updates stopped working.

Brightkite worked great over the weekend with Verizon using the email address. It was actually probably better than a separate number for text vs email addy for pics. HOWEVER, the email address stopped replying to me some time between Saturday night and Monday at around noon. It won't take any updates or send any places back through email to my phone.
