@Jim, the issue is not the amount of dimming, but rather that hitting cmd+K doesn't actually dim ANY tweets at all.

Agreed. This white shade is practically useless as it is - I can barely see it. Background needs to be darker, or the highlight needs to be darker - one or the other. I didn't mind the blue, but a dark gray sounds nice too.

@iconmaster, when I'm reading tweets, I use the selection to show which tweet I'm up to. If I scroll away, and then scroll back - the white is INCREDIBLY difficult to see.

Making it this hard to see is just as bad as removing it altogether - and now I want to work out how to get tweetie 1.1.x back.
