Howdy all,

I encountered another instance where this is troublesome. I know it is hard to believe, but there are still places in the backcountry where you cannot get mobile service. In order to save battery life, I turn put it in airplane mode. Airplane mode = no GPS. Turn off airplane mode, and the phone rapidly drains the battery trying to find a signal... – brent, on September 03, 2008 17:56
