Brent Lam asked a question in Dell on July 17, 2009 14:51:
Ordered (5) XPS M1330 and all have failed with motherboards and videoI ordered 5 of these XPS M1330 for family members and myself. What a big mistake! Every single one of them has had to have the motherboard and video card replaced at least once, with 3 of them having to have the MB's replaced twice, and my personal one is now on it's 3rd time to the repair depot for video problems! Overall it will be the 4th repair, as they sent someone out to replace the video while it was within the 1 year onsite warranty. Now, I am on the extended video warranty. This is ridiculous to have to send my laptop that I use for work to the repair depot 3 times within a few months. I now have 2 of these laptops at the repair depot at the same time for the same problem. Dell's solution? Offer to sell me an extended warranty. Should I have to dump more money into these laptops just because they have motherboard and video issues? Apparently I'm not the only one with these problems. Also, nearly every laptop has had power adapter issues with the laptop, and needed to be replaced. At one point, the onsite tech said dell shipped us the wrong adapters.
I asked dell to give us a buy back option and go with a different dell laptop, but they refused. I think considering our repair history, it would be the right thing to do. If they looked at my account, they would see that I have purchased over 20+ dell computers/laptopsmonitors from them over the last 6 years and have always loved them...until now. They should do better at customer support when there are serious issues. I'm not complaining about a single laptop having a single issue. I'm talking about 5 identical laptops all having multiple and major issues!
Thanks for letting me vent.
