I noticed the link Will posted might be hard to use so let me reformat. Also, just to clarify, while we don't currently support two way sync with Google Calendar you can do a one way subscription from one calendar to the other. You will have to decide which calendar is your primary calendar (i.e. where you enter events) and then set the other calendar to subscribe to that calendar.
To make AirSet your Primary calendar and have your Google Calendar subscribe to it:
- Login to AirSet and go to your Calendar
- Click on the menu item Calendar > iCalendar Feeds... in the dialog that appears check the box to enable Private access and copy the URL from the adjacent box
- Login to your Google account and calendar. In the left column under Other Calendars click Add > Add by URL and paste the URL you copied from Airset. Your AirSet calendar will now appear on your google calendar.
To Subscribe to your Google Calendar in AirSet:
- Login to your google calendar
- In the left column under My Calendars click on the down arrow next to a calendar name and select Calendar settings
- Towards the bottom of the page that appears, in the section labeled Private Address click on the ICAL button
- Copy the the URL from the dialog that appears.
- Login to AirSet and go to your calendar
- Click on the menu item Calendar > Subscribe
- Go through the wizard and paste in the URL you copied from google. Be sure you DO NOT share this calendar to the public directory.
A comment on the question "Pricing, through Verizon vs. Airset. Is a Storm Brewing?" in AirSet:
It is worth talking to them, I'll try to find out which one has a better reputation and we'll do some testing with both. I suspect the high price tag is because they are typically selling to large corporations with MS Exchange Servers who are not so price sensitive. – Brian, on November 19, 2009 23:26
A comment on the question "Pricing, through Verizon vs. Airset. Is a Storm Brewing?" in AirSet:
Kevin,
If these products support the ActiveSync protocol they might work right out of the box with our ActiveSync support. If not, it would not be hard for us to tweak the server to support one of these. Do you know which one is considered better? – Brian, on November 19, 2009 19:24
A comment on the question "Pricing, through Verizon vs. Airset. Is a Storm Brewing?" in AirSet:
Kevin, I'm sorry to say that it will be a while before we have Blackberry sync. The Blackberry does not natively support the ActiveSync protocol we use for over-the-air sync to smartphones. There are 3rd party ActiveSync clients but we have not been able to find one that is low cost so we will be forced to either develop one of our own or implement some other solution (like SyncML). If things change we will post an update. – Brian, on November 19, 2009 07:42
Brian replied on November 12, 2009 19:54 to the question "How do I remove the Airset application from my cell phone?" in AirSet:
Hi Stacy,
To remove an application from the storm:
On the phone go to Options-> Advanced Options -> Applications
Select the AirSet application
Press Menu, choose Delete.
We have seen a lot of online posts about general performance problems with the Storm, so the slow down might not be related to AirSet. There is no technical reason for a Java app to slow the phone down when it is not running.
Brian replied on November 12, 2009 19:46 to the question "What is the latest on the HTC Touch Pro and Airset Mobile?" in AirSet:
Hello Katie,
It sounds like the HTC Touch has a problem running our java application. Java is supposed to be a cross device standard, but each phone's implementation is a little different and some phones don't properly support the standard. Microsoft is particularly weak on this front as they view the Java standard as competitive to their interests. There are simply too many new phones being launched for us to debug and work around phones that don't properly support the standard (we're pretty sure the problem is not in our client, it runs successfully on millions of phones and thousands of different phone models).
However, there is a silver lining to this story. We are working on an over-the-air sync to the native Windows Mobile applications that should work with the HTC touch. We are supporting Microsoft's native sync standard designed for Exchange Servers so this is much more likely to work. Hopefully this will be available by the end of the year, so stay tuned...
Brian replied on November 12, 2009 19:38 to the idea "Choosing multiple tags in the events dialogue" in AirSet:
Bob, I'm not sure I understand the issue. When you click on the Tags pull down menu in the Edit event dialog box, there is an Edit tags for event... link that will bring up a dialog with exactly the user interface you suggest, all tags are listed with checkboxes in front of the each tag and you can check or uncheck as many tags as you want.
Brian replied on November 12, 2009 19:30 to the problem "Cannot add "Sub Calendar". "ok" button remains grayed out." in AirSet:
Bob, make sure you are following all of these steps:
- Click on File > Add Sub-calendar
- In the dialog that appears, leave the default Color Events by Tag option set and click Next
- Click on the link next to the label Tag: to select or create a tag for this sub-calendar. I suspect this is the step you are missing. You need to create a tag associated with the sub-calendar
- After adding and selecting the tag, click on the Edit link next to Color and choose a color for the events on the sub-calendar
- The OK button should now be enabled, click OK to create the sub-calendar
A comment on the question "Viewing personal calendar on Group Calendar" in AirSet:
If you properly use the participant checkboxes and make sure you check every event on your group calendar in which you are expected to attend, then these events will automatically show up on your Personal calendar. Your Personal calendar shows its events, and all events from all other group calendars in which you are marked as a participant. – Brian, on November 12, 2009 08:43
A comment on the question "Why do I get reminded of tasks I do not own?" in AirSet:
As to why a task only can have one owner, the simple answer is that we did not anticipate users wanting to assign the same task to multiple people. Your work-around is clever. I'll add the request for multiple owners to our feature request list. – Brian, on November 10, 2009 01:02

Brian replied on November 10, 2009 00:44 to the question "help! forum text color pastes white" in AirSet:
Hi Corrina,
I can't reproduce this problem. I also use a Mac and Firefox 3.5.4 and I just copy and pasted some text from a webpage into forum and it worked just fine. Can you give me a sample website where you are trying to copy text "from" so I can see if I have the same problem?
Also, Have you installed AirSet Connector? (Available from Start > More Tools) This is a browser add-on for Firefox that does a lot of things, one of the cool things you can do is highlight any text on any website and right click on the text to send the quote directly to an AirSet cloud computer. The quote is stored in a text file with URL for the site the quote came from automatically stored in the notes field for the file. It might be an alternative for your research.

Brian replied on November 08, 2009 05:59 to the question "Can I change my Cloud Computer from a personal one to a group one?" in AirSet:
You can't convert your personal cloud computer (every member must have a personal cloud computer) but you can create a group cloud computer and move any of the information you currently have on your personal cloud computer to the new group cloud computer. When you add the group cloud computer, it is automatically networked to your personal cloud computer, so you can move files between them.
Brian replied on October 30, 2009 21:23 to the question "looking for a calendar hope it is airset for Htc" in AirSet:
We are in testing on a sync server that emulates the MS Exchange protocol to sync AirSet with Windows mobile, iPhone, and other smartphones. I am currently using it with my iPhone. When we are ready to open this to a wider beta test we will provide the server info you will need to enter on your Imagino then all of your AirSet contacts and calendar info will sync to the native address book and calendar in the imagino.
A comment on the question "How do I organize contacts for a church with several active volunteer programs" in AirSet:
I'd only add to Doug's comment that if you have a lot of contacts, you will want to use the Share view in Contacts. Click on the menu item View > Share. This view not only lets you see all of the group cloud computers to which a contact has been shared, but you can also do multiple selection (click, then Shift-click) to select a whole range of contacts and share them at once by clicking on the Share button on the toolbar. – Brian, on October 30, 2009 17:04
Brian replied on October 28, 2009 08:31 to the question "Imposing a sub-calendar template on events already on the calendar?" in AirSet:
Unfortunately there is no way to retro-actively apply a template to existing events. We are planning on a new feature that will let you select participants by role/sub-group. So in the future you can assign everyone to the appropriate sub-group and then select participants by sub-group. Unfortunately this will not be available for a while (possibly not before the end of the year).
A comment on the question "AirSet for the iPhone" in AirSet:
We have an over the air sync to the native iPhone contacts and calendar application that we have been using internally for a few weeks now. We hope to open this up to a wider beta test in the next week or so, so stay tuned... – Brian, on October 27, 2009 06:39
