britta replied on June 26, 2009 03:35 to the problem "Newlines not respected in bookmark list on website" in Delicious:
A few other people have asked for this as well, and we understand that newlines in notes could be helpful, but there would also be downsides that we'd have to mitigate.
One of the main ones is that a person could abuse this by typing hundreds of newlines in a single note, interfering with normal page display for anyone who encountered that bookmark.
Even a person with good intentions might write several long notes with many newlines, which could hog quite a bit of space on a Network or Subscriptions page (for example). Right now, a thousand-character note does take up some space, but it's not out of balance with the rest of the page.
We're still thinking about this, though.

Just to close out this thread: the current version (2.1.041) is compatible with Firefox 3.5.
britta replied on June 20, 2009 22:22 to the idea "Fill notes with the content of the description meta tag of a website" in Delicious:
Thanks for the suggestion. We've considered this, but it turns out that the meta description for websites is often full of promotional text instead of a true description of the site. Also, we'd like to encourage people to write notes that are personally useful, not just what the site owner thinks might be useful.
If you use the Firefox Delicious add-on, an easy way to fill out the notes field is to select a piece of text on the page. When you click "TAG", that selected text will be copied into the notes field.

britta replied on May 26, 2009 18:36 to the question "Stop seemingly most actions (tabbing through form fields, pressing enter in address bar) from bringing up add new bookmark window!" in Delicious:
There are so many add-ons that it's difficult to make Delicious compatible with each of them, but we can look into this. Make sure that you have the latest version of the Delicious add-on (2.1.041).
In the meantime, you may want to try switching the Delicious add-on to "Classic mode" (this is available from the bottom of the Delicious menu). Or, you may want to uninstall the Delicious add-on and use the simple bookmarklet buttons instead.
britta replied on May 20, 2009 16:51 to the idea "Mass Edits of Tags and Bookmarks would be REALLY helpful" in Delicious:
There are two kinds of mass editing on Delicious right now: rename/delete tags and the "Bulk edit" feature linked at the top right of your Bookmarks pages (in the small light blue box). It sounds like you're talking about the first kind — have you tried the second? It's not perfect, but it's relatively fast and has a few different features.
What other kinds of mass-editing are you interested in? Or mostly just improving the current set of features?
