And now at 3:00 MDT, my device updates were again turned off without my knowledge. Any ideas why this would keep happening? My phone has been receiving SMS from others with no problems.

For some reason, my device updates were turned off. Now things are flowing again. Does anyone know why a person's device updates would be turned off without their knowledge?

I am receiving updates via the web, but all notices to my SMS have stopped. I can update my status from SMS, but no texts arrive from twitter. I am on AT&T, and this began at ~11:00 MDT.

Sorry but a bit of clarification. In the settings its all, none, or to those you follow. Not specific persons.

Not that I know of, its all @replies or none from the preferences. To get @replies to you only, send track yourusername to 40404 and all @replies addressed to you will come to your phone.

it seems to have begun while they were doing system upgrades to improve performance. I guess it did the opposite.

Currently it is hit and miss whether SMS get to/from Twitter. Both my tweets and those of others have a ~50% chance of getting through. I am on AT&T with a iPhone

Myself also. Mine are clocking in 4-5 hrs late from SMS. Web updates are immediate.
