I restarted wuala with 12000 transactions pending. The next start it did an update and now gets an out of memory error whenever i start it. Upped to 1.5GB heap and didn't help.
I believe i could run it under java x64 and give it more run to try and recover it but i dont know the command line arguments to send to the java executable. My attempts resulted in unable to find classes and invalid alpha test password.

hi luzius
today the same problem arised again.
wuala mac version 249.
in the about wuala was a version number "wuala alpha mac 0" before, which is very strange.
After updating a start of wuala lead to a nice crash.
wuala does not startup anymore right now.
furthermore the mac version at least seems to have some issues in uploading typical movie-size files (700 -1300 MB). They were analysed and encrypted correctly, but after a short upload-period, there is no upload-progress anymore.
it looks somewhat as if the client is waiting for some free space on the network.
is there currently not enough space on the wuala network? :)
further-furthermore:
the new feature "write-access" to the network-folder still somewhat buggy.
uploading to the nfs share by using drag and drop leads to a superfast upload, which crashes after some seconds. in the wuala window the progressbar for analyse-phase is misbehaving, becasuse it shows values above 100%, which are counted very very fast... 349% -> crash.
cheers sven
BubbleBobble asked a question in Wuala on March 23, 2008 21:39:
online time resetted????SHOCK: today my online time dropped from 73% (last time I saw today) down to 11%...
What the hell is going on? Is this a centralized dropdown?
interestingly, my storage is still the same as before, but it seems that i cannot earn more at the moment.

Hi maze. There are technical reasons for this. It simply doesn't work with the windows file explorer. For example, when browsing to a directory with images that have not been downloaded before, the windows files explorer freezes completely until it has downloaded all the images and generated all thumbnails. Similar things happen with mp3 when it searches for their meta data.
Regarding write access: this is a planned feature. However, we can't promise when it will be ready.
However, if you consider using Wuala for backup only, there might be more solutions out there that are more suitable to you. See also gtavares' great response.
