A comment on the idea "Constantly sharing a Folder" in Wuala:
I personally don't need a commercial software to copy files... ;-)
and yes, this feature is still often requested and maybe it'll get in the client when the new sharing dialogue is finalized. – Bugreport, on March 08, 2009 19:10
A comment on the question "change user name" in Wuala:
No, copying inside Wuala would be fine, but the files have to be downloaded (= in your cache) to be maintained, so it would make sense to download them on the new account. – Bugreport, on March 08, 2009 19:07

zu 2.: Das passiert mit 2048bit RSA und ja, das funktioniert in etwa so wie du es gesagt hast. – Bugreport, on March 06, 2009 10:34

A comment on the question "When I buy additional storage from Wuala - where/how is it located?" in Wuala:
If it's not yet maintained it should come from the server... ;-) – Bugreport, on March 05, 2009 00:27
A comment on the question "When I buy additional storage from Wuala - where/how is it located?" in Wuala:
Maybe this is where the confusion comes from:
Wuala does no longer (afaik) want to be ultimatively "serverless" but use the P2P network as a boost in both speed and reliability. If for example only the most used 50% of files are out in the P2P cloud this would help more than becoming "serverless" and giving the users the responsibility to maintain the files regularly.
At least on my storage nodes there's plenty of room left, so if people want to store data in the P2P-Network it will most likely work. What happens if space gets low there? I honestly have no idea, but I guess the 100GB sharing limit will fall first and then there might be ads or something to get more users. I highly doubt though that a scenario like that is likely to happen in the next few months/years. – Bugreport, on March 04, 2009 23:25

If you want/need to know just do a little IP-checking with a sniffer while downloading a big freshly uploaded file - it should com from the "mythical" server(s)... – Bugreport, on March 04, 2009 21:47
A comment on the praise "My Wuala experience" in Wuala:
RAM = random access memory but available memory = RAM + Pagefile – Bugreport, on March 03, 2009 00:57
A comment on the praise "My Wuala experience" in Wuala:
Java maybe wastes available memory, but surely not wastes RAM... most of the displayed memory usage gets swapped away fast and does not impact anything. If you have other proof, please share it with us! – Bugreport, on March 02, 2009 23:45

Wuala uses jLan from Alfresco for filesystem integration. – Bugreport, on March 01, 2009 10:43
A comment on the praise "My Wuala experience" in Wuala:
Well, the additional memory gets swapped away very soon anyway so what's always the big deal with that number?!
I'd rather have Java and easy multiplatform than slower development just because of some weird linux-specific bug for example. – Bugreport, on March 01, 2009 10:42
Bugreport marked one of pascal.herbert's replies in Wuala as useful. pascal.herbert replied to the question "Wartung von fremden Wuala Dateien normal?".
Bugreport made a comment on "Wuala.exe", but it was removed. see the change log
A comment on the idea "Wuala.exe" in Wuala:
Yeah, but atm you can launch Wuala from the web, even if you don't have it installed without any problem - if you create "wuala://" Links, you'd have to have Wuala present already and listening for those links. – Bugreport, on February 27, 2009 14:57

A comment on the idea "Wuala.exe" in Wuala:
1) not a question...
2) because of Webstart - it's not nice to run an exe-file from within your browser... Browsers can only launch Java applets and if you use Webstart you'll still have the javaw.exe. – Bugreport, on February 26, 2009 18:30
